Thankfully I haven’t had too many times where I’ve needed to complain much but when I have I always receive a reply and usually some sort of satisfactory response or offer of some descriptionBased on responses here, I sadly am not expecting much response.

I am appreciative that there are a lot of mixed reviews for this hotel since the pandemic.
I cannot fault things so far.
Our check in was smooth and quick; and my Accor preferences (high floor, away from lifts) were well in touch. Room 1510 is about as far as you can get from the lift. Quite literally.
We went around the room with a fine tooth comb. Here's our complaint: the TV needs to be updated. I couldn't load Netflix, nor could I easily connect my MacBook Air. REALLY? How is that even a sane complaint? It's not.
Breakfast on the first morning was a dream. The world's friendliest chef in charge of the kitchen: I dare not go past without ordering an omelette. Didn't want to upset him. He had to dart off to take care of something and a colleague of his came in to make my omelette. It was lovely - and we had a little bit of chat (him being a face mask). I never - ever - have an omelette in a hotel for breakfast. This was super lovely. So much so, I walked over after to say thank you to the gentleman. He looked a bit stunned, but said thank you. Fifteen minutes later, he came over and had a lovely chat with my wife and I - my hearing's not great, and I had some issues understanding him through his mask, but it was just so nice to have a little chit chat, and to pass on a sincere compliment.
The Kaya Croissant this morning, bloody hell.
As for the lounge - we've had some solid eating in there; real wok hei on the noodles, and tonight's little chocolate banana mousse desserts were gorgeous. Great cheeses (carried over from the breakfast - I am pretty sure, but why waste food?) and salads there as well.
Barnabas, Kem, and Yaini have looked after us super well in the lounge so far. They're commendable.
Wife decided (after a measly 6 hour trek around the botanical gardens this morning) to spend the afternoon in the bath. And I decided to spend it drinking coughtails and playing video games in the bar in the lobby, 1864. Super friendly staff and a couple of us ended up chatting about video games and nerding it up when the wives aren't around.
Little tip: the gorgeous cakes at the tea/cake counter in 1864 are 50% off after 5pm. I resisted today... And only shall tomorrow because I'll be at MBS destroying my credit card for the birthday girl. But one for the back pocket.
Seriously. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Top banana, as I would say.

My last of 7 nights here for work. Arrived at 1:30am or so on the first night. Organised the hotel car to pick me up from the airport as really didn't feel like dealing with finding Ubers at that time of morning on very little sleep. Worked well but very expensive. Uber would be under $20 and this was over $80.
At check-in I wasn't offered an upgrade. They have base rooms, club rooms (pretty confident this is just a base room with lounge access) and then junior, operate, prestige and imperial suites. I enquired about an upgrade and was told only suites are available, so I pushed for that. Was given a junior suite, right at the end of the hallway. Perfect! I had noted I wanted a quite room and if they could leave some fresh fruit for me, that would be appreciated.
No gift or fruit in the room. Calling this a junior suite would be a stretch. The room part had a slightly longer couch against the wall than a regular room. Where it was bigger was the bathroom was more spacious and quite a large dressing area. I was beat so went straight to bed. Room was dead quiet. However, the bathroom walls are frosted glass. Additionally, the shower has an external frosted glass window. No blinds on either, so the room gets light at sunrise. This is a big no from me.
Next morning I let them know that I need a room that remains darks. Turns out all junior suites are the same layout and they'd have to move me to a regular room. I enquired about a bigger suite but told they are all booked out. This was despite it being bookable online which really annoyed me. I mentioned this but they insisted it was booked out. I didnt fight it and took a regular room, which was just find. Remains dark but you do get a bit of hallway noise.
New room at an apology note with some nibbles plus a decent bowl of fruit.
As is typical in India, there are staff everywhere and incredibly helpful and friendly. Sometimes things just seem to get lost in translation, but that's India. I just roll with it.
I had breakfast in the lounge all bar one morning. Usual high Sofitel standards and quite refined.
I picked this being an Accor hotel and relatively central for my needs in Mumbai. 20 minutes to the airport in no traffic and 30 to 35 in traffic. BKC is a nice area (US embassy is just down the road). Not hugely touristy but only a 30 minute Uber so Fort/south Mumbai area.

No mention of the airport transfers. I'll see what's on the bill when I check out in the morning. That’s disappointing.
We had such a fantastic stay there last year. We were upgraded to the Junior Suite and they said the suite came with two way airport transfers complimentary. They pretty much went out of their way to make our stay great
Suites definitely come with the 2 way airport transfers complimentary but I’m guessing that they have not applied those benefits. I’ve heard of some properties not allowing benefits when a room is upgraded but that’s pretty poor IMONo mention of the airport transfers. I'll see what's on the bill when I check out in the morning.

Yeah, we were still in Bali so nearly two weeks in advance when we got notification of upgrade and that complimentary 2 way airport transfer was on offer. Were you notified of your upgrade prior to arrival?

My three night stay here was quite a saga.
At the urging of my dad who'd stayed at the Metropole many years ago, I cancelled a booking I had for the Movenpick Hanoi and splurged on the Metropole.
Checked into the Metropole and was informed I was upgraded to a Grand Premium Room, but was also told I wasn't going to be given club lounge access (my first upgrade thanks to status). No biggie as I hadn't paid for lounge access and wasn't expecting it. I was quickly disappointed when I realised the 'upgraded' room I'd been assigned was in the newer Opera wing rather than the newly refurbished, much storied Heritage wing that I'd paid a premium for. I was also confused why my room didn't come with club floor access given this was usual for the type of room I was in, so went to query this at the club lounge itself (as I thought it a reasonable trade-off if I got lounge access for not being in the Heritage wing and the noisy air con), vowing to ask to be moved to the Heritage wing if not.
I was informed my room did have club lounge access so I settled into for a splendid high tea followed by coughtails, champagne and canapes over about four hours. A wonderful time was had, before I retreated to my room.
I went to the main buffet for a (splendid, if pricy) breakfast each morning (which featured both freshly made pho and Vietnamese iced coffee; yum!).
The problems started the next night when I went to have a cleansing ale or two before dinner in the lounge. I had a couple of beers and on the way out, was asked for my room number and was told I didn't have club access asked to sign for $25 worth of beer (being two bottles of Ha Noi beer). At this point, I stated 'huh? your colleague told me I had access yesterday!'
After grizzling to the lounge manager further about this, I eventually signed the chit, but indicated I would be complaining the next day (given the inconsistency about lounge access)
The hotel's majordomo approached me at dinner that night (I went to Le Beaulieu which was very nice as you'd expect for ~$A290 for four courses although you only get a 10% discount with Accor Plus). He agreed to wipe the charge for the beer and to move me to the Heritage Wing. One exchange: 'Why didn't you raise this at check-in?' 'Well, because while not happy with the Opera Wing, I would have been happy with club lounge access like I thought I had as a compromise.'
Anyway, the room I ended up in, the Grand Deluxe, was very nice indeed (with whisper quiet air con I might add), and I'm pleased I ended up here.
The following night, I popped across the street to the MGallery Hotel d l'Opera for dinner (as I was zonked but couldn't face the astronomical prices for meals in the Metropole). They had 2 for 1 drinks at the bar (sadly only Carlsberg on tap rather than anything local) and gave the full 25% Accor Plus discount on my plate of Bun Cha Ha Noi. Came to about $32 all up for two beers, a main and a dessert. Far more reasonable.
Will I stay here again? No probably not, as the Movenpick will probably be almost as nice for one-third the price for a club room (the need for a club room will be rendered moot by looming platinum status).
