Very poor showing by Hiltons in the US $25 isn't even enough to get breakfast at most 4*+ places.

I agree $25 isn't enough, but it sounds like they gave that credit as a status bonus in addition to the Amex FHR booking channel perks (inc free breakfast for two)

So we had underspent - darn !

Agree… the $25 comes with diamond, AMEX offerings are in addition.

We spent $380 all up - about $50 short - yes it hurts

The AMEX benefits are great. The pitiful thing is the diamond $25 credit for breakfast. Which is rubbish. The only thing for that price on the menu at our hotel in Vegas… which was only 3.5 star (it rates itself as 4.5!) was a fried egg on toast and drip coffee.
