Received: Twin Deluxe Room Balcony (level 16 facing city view)
Benefits: Breakfast
Cost: $430 (sg) 2 nights

Completed 2 stays here last week. The hotel itself isn’t bad. The pool is sufficient, staff are friendly and breakfast covers the basics, for the rate it does a good job.
Personally I’m not a fan of the area it is in, most of my business is in Marina Bay area but at less than 50% of the cost of conrad I was willing to travel the distance. With that said, I am going back next month and will not be staying here again.

My issues is with the sensor and central controlled air conditioner. If the sensor isn’t triggered for 20 minutes the air con turns off, this means when sleeping the room heats up. On level 16 in Singapore, it gets extremely hot. In addition returning to a boiling room each time was not enjoyable either.

The noise: the race course side currently has construction, there is construction noise all day. For the city view side, the balcony doors aren’t very sound proof and even had a slight gap when closed letting street noise in. While probably not an every day occurrence or fault of the hotel, their was a protest outside that went all day also causing lots of noise. In addition there is some (church?) bell that goes off for over 10 minutes multiple times a day.

I stay at a hotel for quality sleep and it is unfortunate it appears to be difficult to achieve at this property, as overall its a decent place and the rate is very good. But I guess these reasons are why. I’ll return to the conrad or orchard road next time.

We are discussing this issue in another thread.

I stayed at this hotel late Sep and this happened to me (worse as I was awake watching TV when all the lights and TV turned off). The engineer came up and bypassed the sensor and the aircon stayed cool.

Other than that I thought the hotel was good, I liked the location (I love Indian food) and the MRT was close. Sure not as touristy as Marina Bay but better value I think (was only a 48 hour stopover so didn't care about the hotel facilities too much).

Oh no more bears? I was there in August and didn't get one and didn't ask for one because I already got a few.
No sadly not, last one I got from SG was in March, and got nothing in Jul/Aug or whenever my next stay was, and specifically enquired since it wasn't there - they confirmed for certain that they've changed the offering and there's no more bears.

Maybe ducks too, there wasn't one in the room, but when I asked about the bear they sent a duck to my room, so maybe they have some stock left they're using up, but the bears are out. I too have a few from there, including a few special edition ones for SG50, CNY etc., but I still liked getting them :(
Post automatically merged:

Does Conrad still provide the rubber ducks? I hope this lack of bears is not gonna be a trend amongst Conrad hotels.
Hit and miss - got a rubber elephant at Bangkok, duck on request at SG (see above, maybe using up the last of them), in room automatically still at HK and Macao.

Anyone stayed at the Conrad Macao post covid? Any feedback?
Yes, this June/July - upgraded to a large suite (100% success rate there for that), great breakfast in the restaurant (although had to queue because it was busy and 11am - they have late breakfasts which are great), two bears and duck in room (yay!).

Only negative is that the lounge is still closed and there's no alternative offered.

Stay: 26 to 28 November
Property: Hilton Parmelia Perth
Booked: King Guest Room
Received: King Suite (level 10)
Benefits: Chocolates
Cost: $627.30 for 2 night stay (Govt rate), $271.15 first night and $356.15 second night

My bi-annual trip was cut to 2 days, so wasn’t worth switching to DT for 2nd night ($1 difference). Had forgotten to checkin prior to arrival, but not disappointed with Diamond upgrade (but prefer Queen Suite)

Saw Paola at breakfast and Jocelyn (Asst Front Desk Manager) this afternoon; plus met Ebony who sends me my welcome text messages (she’s the Exec Lounge & VIP Manager). Had a long chat with her, very helpful and nice to put a face to the name.

Property: Hilton Little Queen St Melbourne
Booked: Base room (book through Amex The Hotel Collection for 3 nights
Received: Level 11 King Premier Room with City view
Status: Diamond
Benefits: Lounge access and $150 F&B credit from The Hotel Collection

My usual, Sofitel, was way too expensive so gave this a go. Nice and new hotel. I guess my room upgrade is a 2 or 3 level upgrade but it's essentially a standard room. As for a city view, technically correct but I'd hate to see what a non-city view room looks at?!

Lounge is ok. Nothing special with drinks etc on from 5pm to 7pm. Arrived at 6:30pm last night and one of the two hot options had run out and they didn't replace it. No breakfast in lounge. If you want a hot breakfast, that's another $10 thanks. I think this is pretty poor for someone with lounge access as a lounge usually provides a hot breakfast. Also a coffee tax!

Overall, it's acceptable as a business hotel. Good central city location. Breakfast situation annoys me though.

Would anyone notice if you happened to select the hot stuff whilst enjoying your 'cont buffet' ;)

I actually suspect they're actively on the lookout for it. That card in the original post gets filled in and remains on your table for the duration of breakfast. It's not a large hotel and the breakfast area isn't that big either.

Stay: November
Property: Conrad Bali
Booked: Base (cheapest) Room
Received: King Suite (upgraded pre stay)
Benefits: usual Diamond bennies
Cost: Corporate 18% off LRA

The default upgrade for Diamonds at this property is a Suite in the Suites wing. But if you’ve stayed here often enough you’ll remember the late evening noise from the weddings at the beach front chapel. So I asked them to downgrade me to a lagoon access room which they were happy to do. They were willing to give me my usual Lagoon Suite, but all 4 sold out.

I rarely post stay details like this, so the point of this post is that on this stay they actually offered me a Villa. Again, I declined because I really like the lagoon access rooms/suites. But if anyone else likes the privacy and quietness of a villa setting then perhaps consider this request.

When you say upgraded pre-stay, how long prior to arrival? Did they reach out or did you?

My room was upgraded to a King Suite maybe 5 days prior. I waited for them to email me until i asked them to change it to a lagoon access room which was quickly amended. I checked availability prior. The villa was voluntarily offered upon arrival.

I must confess I’ve stayed at Conrad Bali 15+ stays so perhaps I get treated a little better than others. However, when I asked them about further upgrade options I also asked them if they could tell me how many stays I had with the property. The agent stated the system only gave them the last stay details, and there were no life long stay details etc which you would think would influence their room allocation decisions.

Regardless of status or prior stays, a pleasant, endearing and respectful attitude upon checkin goes a long way at any property.

@Daver6 does booking through Amex bestow HH status benefits the same as a booking through Hilton? I have a credit to use.

Yes. I received lounge access and others have reports benefits honoured. Immediately after booking it showed in the HH app. As for points posting, I expect it to, but I don't check out till Friday.

On an unrelated note, I have a booking for the Conrad Macao. I got in touch to ask about an early check-in. In a response they informed me the exec lounge is closed but instead I'll get a full breakfast in the main restaurant. No mention of it being closed on the website at the time of booking. I'm a little annoyed as it's an excellent lounge and what swayed my decision to stay there.

It's a bit of a pain to cancel and re-book as it's for next Monday. I told them I wasn't impressed and they've offered to put a gin and tonic in my room. I don't really feel like that's a fair exchange. Any thoughts on this?

I’d feel a tad bummed aswell as it’s a decent lounge and if it is closed it should be advertised as such on the website to allow people to make informed decisions.
I seriously doubt you will get any further traction though and at best they might throw in something extra but I wouldn’t count on it.
If there were other properties that you interested in I’d personally consider canceling though

I'll look into other options. Being now a last minute booking I suspect rates will reflect as much.

Highly recommend Sofitel Macau. Base room currently on Accor Red Hot rate for aud116 for Monday, or Prestige Suite for 277 (non sale rate but still fair price given I previously got it for 250 but needed prebooking).
