Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

I'm a Gold member.

Friday, 22 May to Sunday, 31 May (yes, 9 nights)
Property: Hilton Cairns
Room booked: King Room
Rate: Travelzoo $135 package rate (included bottle of red wine)
Received: Upgrade to King Suite, card from GM and the wine, obligatory 2 free water bottles per day

Wednesday, 8 July
Property: Hilton Parmelia Perth
Room booked: King Room
Rate: Award room
Received: Upgrade to King Suite, card from GM and the obligatory 2 free water bottles

Thursday, 9 July
Property: Hilton Adelaide
Room booked: King Room
Rate: Award room
Received: Upgrade to Exec Floor, card from GM and the obligatory 2 free water bottles

Saturday, 11 July
Property: Hilton Brisbane
Room booked: King Room
Rate: Met Package (birthday present for Mrs LW, included 2 buffet breakfasts at Atrium Cafe & 2 tickets to Qld Art Gallery for Impressionists Showing from Metropolitan Museum New York - to get some culture)
Received: Upgrade to Exec Floor, card from GM and the obligatory 2 free water bottles

Got some more travel to do to Melbourne this Friday, so hoping to fly down Thursday night to sample the new Hilton.

IMO I would rate the value of Hilton Shinjuku lounge access @ 10,000 JPY per day knowing the property.
For a point of comparison the IC in Tokyo charges 10,000 JPY paid in access for their lounge.
That said, the 50K points compensation was a reasonable gesture, though I'm sure perhaps the EL access would have been a preferred benefit during the stay.
 
Have received my email from lounge manager Christian (HSW) about upcoming stay and details about checking in via the lounge rather than battling the hordes downstairs. Very nice touch. Thanks HSW.

I agree, we did this a couple of weekends ago and coupled with the express checkout it was fantastic.
Queue was 10 deep at reception on both occasions

I'm looking at booking for myself and some friends at Hilton South Wharf or Hilton on the Park. If I book 3 rooms would everyone get breakfast included and club access? If so is there a limit to how many people per room? I saw that HSW had some two bedroom apartments which made it interesting.

Benefits are for the member only, so one room x 2 people under the spouse stays free, anything beyond that is a bonus not a right.

For breakfast, it depends upon the booking. Yes if you book a B&B package. If you mean with status benefits than officially you and one other. I've had more than 2 on a complementary status breakfast (4 in fact) but you could not bank on that.

The 2 bedroom apartments at HSW are officially 4. Whether or not they'd allow more is debatable. I think the max. occupancy is more about fire dept. regulations than anything else.
 
You could possibly email and negotiate, but official line is as above. Friendly hotels will stretch to upgrading 2 rooms of 2, I've never pushed it further. Will let you know late Dec after a Conrad BKK stay where I plan on pushing the relationship slightly!

I still don't know what an ordinary room looks like :D
Here for a 5 night stay booked a cheapie pre-paid Peak Exec and have been upgraded to Exec Harbour View Suite :mrgreen:
(of course I knew this before I arrived thanks to trippin_the_rift's groovy new site ;) )

I didn't check in until about 10pm so missed the lounge. Breakfast was a quick bite there the following morning with a coffee (no charge) before checking out and heading to HKG.

I checked in at 2am, and advised the hotel that I would be late. I was greeted by name as I approached the counter. I have not stayed here before yet TKWIA!

I think it took me 10 minutes to fully explore the suite's five or so rooms! Powder room, lounge/dining, dressing room, study nook, storage cupboard, bedroom, bathroom. These suites are massive. I had a sleep in the next morning, so missed breakfast in the lounge. I was directed to the restaurant downstairs where I had a cooked to order omelette and coffee (no charge). I had a late checkout organised so had a nap before checking out about 2pm.

This hotel is upstairs and across the road from KL Sentral where the KLIA Ekspress stops so is very convenient to the airport.
 
at Hilton KL now, you missed the chilli coconut prawns in the Exec lounge.

Agreed. Have stayed at both the Hilton and LM at KL and I really like them both.

Due to a stuff up at Hilton I was upgraded to a lifestyle suite there - the best hotel accommodation I have ever stayed at, I almost felt out of place it was perfect. Will post pics when I next am on my my MacBook in a few weeks.
