Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

I'm not sure if it's abolished or if the server simply forgot. She didn't mention any charges when I ordered. The coffee arrived and I expected the bill to come with it but nothing and I didn't try hard to remind them about it! ;)

Last month I decided to order a coffee at breakfast and no cost was mentioned and nothing on the bill. Next stay no mention of a charge for coffee but on checkout there it was on the bill. Same person each time.

I'm glad the uncertainty of the upgrades and diamond benefits (in particular, lounge access) has been clarified by actions. Previously, I'd been advised by HSP themselves that no upgrades in residences (although that had not often been the case), and no lounge access, even for diamonds, if in the residences.
.

Recent stay that I'll add shortly. As Diamond was upgraded from King Guest to King Relaxation Suite xx05. Letter received with benefits -- stated Lounge breakfast only or upgrade to restaurant breakfast for $10.

And latest late check-out 2pm, a 5pm would be $50

Gent behind me checking in to Residences was told that because the Residences are only managed by Hilton they generally can't give upgrades (as all the units are separately owned you would be altering occupancy stats).

Also noted in room that the kettle has been replaced by the Espressotoria Cafino system (got one of these machines at home) although they weren't using the Vittoria capsules

I hope it's a positive change in policy and not just one time fluke. If not then no worries, plenty good cafes near by who can make better coffee for less.

Feels like in need to apologise to straitman.
No suites available for my stay at HSW this week so they gave me his apartment on the 19th floor :D

HSYD, booked King Guestroom, received Relaxation Room.
No coffee tax at Glass this morning and waffles are back. The little tubs of yoghurt also reappeared although the flavours are not as extensive as it used to be but still heaps better than the ones at the yoghurt station.:)

Except for the coffee my last nights stay (Sunday 23rd) was exactly the same and definately glad to see the yoghurt station gone.

I did make the mistake of staying on a saturday night a few weeks ago. Booked a king guestroom midday on the day of arrival and when checking in was given a king guestroom. I politely asked if anything was available higher up and was given an exec room on level 35. I must have booked after upgrades had been alocated and with most rooms selling out during the day.Atleast I was able to get 3pm checkout the next day.

Recent stay Hilton Adelaide:
Status: Diamond
Booked Queen Hilton Guest Room
Received Queen Hilton Guest Room
No upgrade offered as hotel booked full with a conference.
Had breakfast at executive lounge with no coffee tax.
Had breakfast in the restaurant with $5 coffee tax and waived on checkout without my asking.

H-PER
Booked: Queen Guestroom
Received: King Suite
A very generous upgrade for 3 nights. I'm getting quite fond of this hotel. Staff are fantastic with a real "can do" attitude. I also liked the tapas and any drinks off the menu option, a refreshing change from standard lounge offering. I was even allowed to order the $19 coughtails which was really nice.

Would I be assuming correctly that was part of a complementary snack and drink due to no lounge? If so, that would seem to be a very generous gesture.

Hilton Kuala Lumpur
Booked: King Hilton Deluxe
Received: Presidential Suite

I checked in for one night at approx 18:30.
The suite is huge - 2 levels with a study area, lounge room, dining room for 8 and kitchen on the 34th floor and upstairs a massive bedroom, dressing room and huge bathroom including sauna.

My best upgrade ever
:D.
I'll be back in 2 days for three nights but I imagine I'll be brought back down to earth.

DT Kuala Lumpur
Booked: King Bed Guestroom
Received: King Bed Executive Suite
Rate: 10,000 points

Good value and the hotel has an exec lounge (34th floor) with drinks including one red, one white and four types of spirits, fried food, sandwiches, corn chips, dips, fruit platter and a few little desserts. There was no afternoon tea but all day coffee, cold drinks, fruit and snacks.

It's a bit of a let-down after last night's experience!

Waldorf Hilton, London

Booked and received a Deluxe Queen Room, despite being Diamond.

Also arrived at 5pm but the room wasn't ready and I had to wait in the Executive Lounge until 5.45pm. Received a bottle of white wine and complimentary champagne afternoon tea for 2 pax in the restaurant.

So many conflicting reviews about this hotel, I can see why. Were you given a reason for no upgrade?
If hotel not full they should give you at least one level up. Even the stingy "real" Waldorf properties do that.
