Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

Surely Hilton don't allow schoolies to book HSP do they?

Anyone with a valid CC can book a room. I don't think they can ban schoolies from staying there.
Having said that, judging by the relatively low rates HSP currently offers it looks far from being fully booked. If any schoolies are staying there I would guess they probably booked apartments in the Residence.
Anyway, due to the hotel location I would be more worried about the noise coming from outside. I stayed there many times on weekends and could clearly hear the party music. It didn't bother me at all (the music was quite good :) ) but others may find it annoying.

I have a few updates for this thread... multiple short stays over a few weeks.

Property: Conrad Centennial Singapore
Date: Stay 1, October 2014, 1 night
Status: Gold
Booked: King Classic Room
Received: King "Business" Room

I didn't realise Conrad Singapore have two types of upgrades - business and executive. I checked in, went to my room, then having been told I'd been upgraded, I went straight to the lounge. I was informed I wasn't eligible to visit the lounge, but given it was my first visit to the hotel, they gave me one day access but wanted to retract some of the "Business floor" benefits. This was fine with me. The next morning I had breakfast on Level 4 by the pool, which is the "Business floor" breakfast location.
Two bottles of water provided, and I ate the chocolates (note this).

Property: Conrad Centennial Singapore
Date: Stay 2, November 2014, 1 night
Status: Gold
Booked: King Classic Room
Received: King "Business" Room

I didn't visit the exec lounge this time. Again, I ate the chocolates.

Property: Conrad Centennial Singapore
Date: Stay 3, November 2014, 3 nights
Status: Gold
Booked: King Classic Room
Received: King "Business" Room

This time I think they realised I like the chocolates. I had three boxes provided on the second night!

HSW removed the nespresso machine from its EL and replaced it with a machine similar to Hotp. Another 'enhancement' to save cost:evil:

I know many people see Nespresso as the benchmark for quality when it comes to automatic coffee machines. I'm not one of them, I never got the hype around Nespresso. Yes it's easy to use and they have an outstanding marketing strategy but when it comes the coffee quality? Hmmm, not always better then others.
I tried the coffee in HOTP EL and also at HSW EL this week and thought it was OK.

At least it's consistent...that's what I like about Nespresso.

Seeing that machine means I know what I'm getting.

Good news from me following our stay on Saturday night.
An upgrade to the 18th floor with exec lounge access.
As a Gold, certainly no complaints with me.
Some quality time spent there too with boomy.

Good to hear they looked after you.

I stayed there (HotP) on Friday night and was upgraded to an Exec Suite.

The usual great service. One more stay for me on the 26th Dec if anyone would care to join me? I am working on 'something special' for the after party.

I'll be over the pond at HSW on the 26th. Maybe I can pop in anyway... #partytime (yes, I just hashtagged...)

Property: DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur

Room booked: king guest room
Rate: MYR315 ++
Received: executive king, full breakfast in restaurant, lounge access, two bottles of water per day, small fruit plate (complete with Glad Wrap), small tea cake

Back at HotP after 1 month's absence due to crazy rates. Was greeted like a long lost relative both at the reception and lounge and given the fav relaxation suite room. Makes me even sadder having to consider not coming back next year.:(

Just caught the live singer, Sarah, in the HSW lounge tonight. Wow, very impressed - she was great.

She was there a few weeks ago as well, very talented. First time I got to see live entertainment in a Hilton lounge, well done HSW for the initiative.

I have just figured out that i have spent all but a week of the last 5 weeks in a hotel so here are all the stays at once

Hilton Colombo
Booked a corners quite and adjoining room with the delinquent and Mrs C
Got the side of the hotel that looks across the ocean and posted some previous pics
Then when i went back on my own
booked a standard suite and ended up in a suite that isn't on the booking engine .
its still an old tired hotel that is being renovated but the staff are great with the exec lounge staff remembering me by name

HOTP
booked standard room and got the relaxation suite with Mrs C over the weeekend

HSW
booked a standard room and got a relaxation suite for a 4 night stay !
Was also in the lounge last night listening to the singer whilst i was on a teleconference back to work .
One of the better teleconferences!

I have noted that the upgrades are more frequent now i have requallified as diamond on number of stays rater than as a part of a card programme

I am not sure that a property can tell how Diamond is acquired.

I am not sure that a property can tell how Diamond is acquired.

They certainly could when I was an HH diamond. And the last time I was a diamond was in 2007.Got on well with one hotel we stayed at and they could tell me how many Hiltons,Conrads,HGIs etc I had stayed at.

I am not sure that a property can tell how Diamond is acquired.

They can see how many stays you had and how much you spent on average.
At Hilton BNE for example you will be treated as VIP (better then Diamond) if you often book longer stays at higher rates.
