Just thought I'd create a thread for this - looking back over the last year, I thought I'd done a thread here as well as on Priority Club.

Internet, Fantastic lounge service including spirits.

This stay was using a credit from an Advance Purchase booking that we had to cancel when Sue went to hospital. They were very
accommodating (no pun intended) when I explained and simply put out AP into a credit to use later.

My experience of that hotel was that there was simply just nothing to do. And the lack of wifi in the rooms was a killer.

The Hilton Narita offers a free shuttle to Aeon Mall and Narita township - both have shopping and the town has some great restaurants plus an interesting temple.

CNS, BNE, HSP, SYD all do. HSW use to. CNS doesn't have Baileys or Kahlua but I think the rest do (oh, I think Fifa mentioned SYD doesn't have Baileys either).

I hope the HSW foray is very localised......I'd hate to see that becoming the norm.

Swanning - you are right. HSW did use to include spirits. Not last week. Agreed.. it would be a shame to see it become the beer and cheap bubbles club. That aside, I still really like the location and the property in general. The free continental breakfast takes place in the Exec Lounge also, and although not lavish, really does have all you need to get out and start the day.

Just saw Straitman's post. Looks like those that ask shall receive. I swear I recall being able to help myself last year however? In any case, I'll be sure to ask for my gin and ton tons next time I stay. Thanks Straitman, for setting us straight.

In over 20 stays going back to shortly after it opened, I have never seen self pour spirits in the HSW exec lounge.

They do make a mean G&T upon request though ... :p

What kind of rates were you paying? I'm looking for September and there's $4SGD between them (314/318) a night.

When I was pricing our trip the other week (5-13 Apr), I recall seeing the Conrad at at least $SGD100/night less than the Hilton. We went with the Hilton as it was closer to the hotel where my conference was held. And travelling with Miss 6; website says kids under 12 not allowed in the Conrad Exec Lounge. Deal breaker for us travelling as a family, probably not for others.

Property: Hampton Inn closest to Universal Orlando
Date: 28-30 Nov 2012
Rate: $189.34 Advance purchase for 2 nights (including tax)
Booked: 2 Queen beds
Received: 2 Queen beds

Property Benefits:
Allowed to check in 4 hours early. 1 water bottle. Wifi and breakfast is included for everyone. Walking distance to Universal also with a free shuttle to Walt Disney World and the cheap Tourist Trolley (bus) right outside which makes this a good cheap stay.

Sent from AFF Mobile Edition

we stayed here recently, and many thanks for the initial post
Not luxury accommodation but cheerful and clean. And very importantly a brisk walk to Universal Studios.
If I had my time again I'd likely choose the nearby Double Tree...probably a bit more expensive but even closer to Universal Studios

Universal Studios Orlando Hotels - DoubleTree Hotel Universal Orlando

and a hint for anyone going to Orlando: it will be very very difficult to get around without a car. The city seems to be a series of scattered blocks linked by major roads

Excellent service at check in from Front Desk Supervisor. No problems with lounge access. Water bottles provided on first day. Bill delivered to room had internet charges but at check out the clerk recognised my status and cleared them without question.

I was concerned about staying here after reading all the posts but all in all I was satisfied that my status was recognised appropriately, and would be happy to stay again.

However, the spirits that has appeared for Straitman a few days earlier had disappeared again! Oh well, just stuck to the wine instead of G&Ts.

If you look at the HSW thread and the lounge dining options the list actually states spirits.
I'm currently having a Bundy & coke but you need to ask.

Ausbt,
Sounds like you were in the lounge but we missed you :!:

My apologies all, I was carried away with work. The G&T probably fuzzied my thinking as well :p I'll catch you next time - possibly at HoTP next Tuesday actually.

And at HOTP the spirits are out the back, just like at HSW. Not self-serve.

The usual cookie on check-in, not really much to say. Got here late tonight and leaving early in the morning! Room is a decent size though which is nice.
