Hotel breakfast likes & dislikes

I like decent variety of international and local plus I love items like you would normally eat all day such as Banh Mi stations, roast meats,, ice cream etc.
Also want to see more designated areas for the highest status tiers but sadly can’t see that happening everywhere. It’s great when they do offer it though.

No more metal teaspoons in/at the Ibis Adelaide on Grenfell for breakfast.
Not sure how long the wood will last before they go back to metal.
No table spoons either, just fork and knife for eating, this was for breakfast yesterday.

I think the Hong Kong hotels would probably have best breakfasts, I think most would include breakfasts in their nightly tariffs.
For those that dont include it in the night tariffs, tho, SIN food court breakfasts are the best.

I was there all weekend - the cutlery trays in the buffet section aren't identically stocked, perhaps try another tray for table spoons.
And on the saucer with my (included, barista) coffee was a metal teaspoon.

Oh, strange, near the coffee maker machine part, I only had the wooden tea spoons.
I was looking for the table spoons too, but where the forks and knives were, but there no table spoons there.
Was in a rush, so maybe didnt notice things too well.

Will be doing it again later in the year, that Ibis Adelaide On Grenfell is the cheapest hotel to get ALL activity.

I’ll have to take back my praise for Novotel South Wharf.

Asked if I would like eggs with breakfast. I ask for an omelette with mushrooms. “Oh, it’s an extra $4 to add mushrooms”. You can only get with or without cheese.

Why? That really feels like nickel&diming.

May as well not offer an omlette then

Hotel breakfasts that are so massive that it changes your dietary routine

One World Hotel in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia is one place. It's breakfast buffer has numerous stations and seats 600.
Gluttony ensues when it is included in the room fee. Then all you need is breakfast and dinner.

The best breakfasts are those with an a la carte component. Table service, cooked to order dishes and with the buffet really just focusing on things like fruit, pastries, cold cuts, cereal, etc.
