Further to today's update regarding YVR seasonal schedules, we also announced improvements to Qantas’ Honolulu services with adjusted arrival and departure times in Honolulu: QANTAS TO FLY TO VANCOUVER FOR SUMMER AND SKI HOLIDAYS

The new times will open up more onward connections to other Hawaiian Islands, and will also enable a fifth weekly service to operate on Mondays during peak seasons, from 7 September to 19 October 2015 and 30 November 2015 to 25 January 2016.

Thanks for the update. Its actually a more convenient time as you can get a full day in the office and then off to the airport for the night flight. Looking forward to this as booking later in the year.

Would you say it's an enhancement? ;)

Looking forward to welcoming you onboard. Aloha!

Coming back from HNL and arriving at 8.15pm Sydney time means there is basically no opportunity for onward domestic connections (except the 22.05 to melbourne), so if you want a domestic connection back in Australia you need to come back on the weekend flights, that's a disadvantage

I hope this increase in service means there will be a few more J reward seats available?

Haven't seen one in Jan 16 up to the 22nd HNL-SYD

+1 (although based in SYD this does not affect me so much). Surprising that QF doesn't have any late night departures to cities other than MEL.

Qantas contacted me today re the change. Was getting a connecting flight to Perth, with the new schedule now putting me up in a hotel, flying to Perth next morning. I'm not at all displeased about this.

J rewards are pretty much impossible on this route! :(

Even as a Plat and requesting them through the call centre, every request was declined!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

On the other hand:
a) arriving into HNL at lunchtime means there's a better chance of being able to check-in to your hotel when you arrive, rather than having to wait
b) if you're coming from one of the other islands to fly home via HNL, you can now do it on the same day (previously you had to overnight in HNL)

We managed to snag two J in mid January 2016, SYD-HNL, BUT for the HNL-SYD route there has been basically nothing all month, not even Y.

Looks like we are going Hawaii for Xmas not Fiji ..... ohhh first world problems

I dont think a 1210 arrival in week days will open up more onward connections to other Hawaiian Islands.

I used to travel to Hawaii regularly on Qantas. 4 years ago they lost my business to The opposition. QF were flying terrible aircraft, had insane business class pricing and a lack of frequency in favour of the Orange Peril. Such disdain for customers could not be rewarded any longer. So I went HA and NZ instead. Finally QF look to be getting back into the game with a decent product so this year I will book with them. Supply a good product and customers will reward your business with their hard earned. Edit. Just noticed the flight times ... Take back some of what I just said ...

Qantas contacted me last week to change our November SYD-HNL flight from 7.25pm to 10.45pm.

Coming from Perth, we now have a 6 hour layover.

Plus, a two drive precedes this plus an overnight stay. Wish we had known about this before booking and I could have booked a later domestic flight and just driven up that same morning....

Arriving early into HNL doesn't bother me as I use the hospitality room at my hotel, drop my bags and hit up Ala Moana.

I'm only Bronze and saw heaps of outbound award flights available in J, but at their immediate release dates. I had at call to find 2 x inbound flights, there wasn't any available for months.
