Hey guys,

Is anyone going to be in Hong Kong International terminal on the 9th of June at 9pm who would be willing to comp in a poor Silver tier FF? haha.
I've got a 12 hour stop over and im trying to avoid lying in the Cathay gate for 12 hours.

If you happen to be there flying Cathay and your willing it would be a pretty amazing coincidence...and awesome!

:)

Probably too early for most, just keep watching the June 2012 thread.
But with 12 hours get out of the airport and go into Central, or Kowloon, or even just to Citygate and Ngong Ping..

No point spending 12hrs at an airport!

I would follow moa999 advice, HGK is the best place on earth to enjoy a painful stopover.

You can do so much for 12 hours in HKG! When are you arriving and when are you leaving HKG? Is it overnight?

I'm joining the chorus of those who think you should get out and about.

Get a massage
Go shopping and buy a camera
Go to the movies
Go to a restaurant
Get another massage

And that should be enough to keep you occupied for a few hours?

Ah I would but im in HK overnight, 10pm - 9am...looked at the airport itself to see if there is any 'private sleep in rooms' sorts of things, and they are pretty pricey to say the least. (Keep in mind im on a limited budget). I dont know heaps about the hotels surrounding the airport but would they take someone in at 11+pm?

What's your flight details?

At present I have the choice of SIN/BKK/HKG departure on the 9th .... but willing to head over to HKG just to spend some time in the City.

You can try to see if Cathay can put you to earlier flight if possible. That's what I did a few years ago when I had the the same connection time overnight, but then I called up CX to see if they can put me up to earlier flight, which they did and I end up flying overnight to Sydney.

plenty goes on in the right (or wrong??) parts of HK between those hours ;). Head to Wan Chai or Lan Kwai Fong and there will be plenty happening.

Happy Foot's Wan Chai branch is open till 2am:)

Arriving at 11pm will be no problem for getting a hotel room or a taxi (this isn't sydney after all ;))

There are several options minutes from the airport including marriott, novotel or the regal (which is actually at the airport).

I would be getting plenty of sleep if you are flying Cathay Y again - a hangover and those shell seats do not go together trust me!!
