I have no status with IHG so it might be the lower basement broom closet for me!

Are there any restrictions on food, alcohol etc that can be brought to your room?

I hope not. I have a bottle of Chivas and a bag of peanuts in my bag!

Are there any restrictions on food, alcohol etc that can be brought to your room? I presume the hotel will want the names of all the guests in your room, and you need to carry photo ID on NYE?

Named guests required plus photo Id, but no problems bring in food of drink!

Nothing has been said to me. I've just picked up some cereal and milk for breaky and will be going back shortly. Hopefully without hassle!

No worries when we came back. Grabbed noodles at the wok on inn behind the hotel, not bad for a cheap feed

I really wanted to come and meet some new faces, but the powers that be are not on my side... After returning to Australia I have been sucked into a vortex of family "duties" which unfortunately means I am stuck in Melbourne until late this evening

Its nice to see an AFF not trying to make money on another!!!enjoying the stay went to dinner last night and nice to walk home instead of driving 1/2 hr
will be on the roof on NE and looking forward to meeting you all.
have other friends coming in for the night as well.( I had 3 rooms for 1 nt on the normal points)

At the end, it's not much about the room (you'll either get a Harbour view or a laneway view), it's really the roof. Suggest a small contingent work out a "camp" plan for a good roof spot for the AFF crowd.

We could see about 1sq of the harbour yesterday from 102... woke up this morning and they've put a temporary fence up so no longer!

We had the same "problem" last year when we were down at the Old Sydney for NYE, but I believe the ship moved in time for the festivities.

Let us hope you are equally blessed Of course, from the roof top it is not much of a problem, as the action isn't really blocked by the ship.

Also, this year for the first time in about a decade, the sails of the Opera House will share honours in the pyrotechnics.

It's leaving tonight I think. Million dollar question is if another is coming in tomorrow. Anyone know how to find out?
