Well done! I remember last year making in on my very last flight (on a year on MEL-ADL-MEL flights) so I understand the hard work taken to get there on 100 domestic flights rather than the glamour of about 2 J trips to LHR to get you there.

Nothing beats strolling through the throngs of SGs at the QP at Melbourne into the business lounge. Remember to look smug as you pass, it's your right (indeed your duty as a WP to uphold the tradition).

Now I have just made double WP this year I will have to be twice as disdainful!

Congratulations on your hard-earned WP status! I too earned mine in similar vein, though it was less than 100 flights (I groan to think of 100 Y flights in a year without any status...). Enjoy the benefits, especially every minute in the J lounges, and try and wangle a visit to the oasis that is the F Lounge. Well done!

Good work. I was comped to WP initially (I was AA EXP already) but have requal'd each year (and now hit P1) since. It is great and bad at the same time - once you hit it the benefits start pouring in but then you hit your anniversary date and you have to start again from scratch.

Enjoy and I will buy you a beer in the lounge if our paths cross

Congratulation STuM, my wife and I have just got back from Thailand this week and are both 10 SC short of being WP.
We have never even been Silver before this year.

I have till 31st December to get another 10 SC and Qantas kindly sent me an email about 6 weeks ago offering me double SC's up until 31st December ( after I had paid and booked the Thailand trip on one of their sales back in March).
They obviously want to help people get there. As I see it a WIN/WIN especially with double SC's SYD-OOM next year looming.
Some people might object to the lounges being full but as I see it the more people in there the more business Qantas is getting and the more long term viability it will be ensuring for all our future benefits.
The days of small exclusive private clubs have gone in every facet of life they are simply not viable nor sustainable

Congrats, I hit it a couple of weeks ago, for the first time.

No big deal though, it seemed nothing changed, PER-BNE priority boarding was a free for all, 50 minutes late because could not land in BNE and got smacked around a few times by the crew passing while trying to sleep in an Aisle seat. No greeting (not that I care) but my point is, don't expect things to be too different from when you fly as a goldy. lol.
