Hilton properties in Kuala Lumpur

Has anyone used the Executive Lounge at the Doubletree Hilton Kuala Lumpur? I may have access to it on my next trip but can't find any details of what it means? Complimentary drinks? are meals or breakfasts served there?

I don't even know where it is, even though I stayed on the executive floors last time.

DT KL EL is very good.

Decent breakfast in the mornings.
Drinks and Canapes (very good selection in the evenings - 2hrs from memory)
Think there is an Afternoon Tea as well.

Small outdoor smoking area with views of Petronas Towers.

Breakfast has a small (but good) selection of cook to order items. You fill out a form on the table and hand it to a wait staff member.

The smoking area does nothing for me, but will definitely check it out next week. I do like the Makan kitchen breakfast, but that can be a fall back option.

Thank you both!

Not a smoker myself either, but have used it when returning to the hotel in an evening, sitting out there for 20minutes and sipping on a soft drink (freely available until the lounge closes)

Some photos of the rooms and lounges here:

Thanks, I feel silly now, I appear to have missed a whole page of this thread that answered my questions

Don't forget the laundry benefits etc

Ooh the laundry is good. I always like to have the clothes Ive flown in to be laundered and available as another set of clothes. Reduces the HLO too!

Plus I'm not allowed to claim laundry on such short trips. Win win.

I've not received that letter before, but hen I'm not HH Gold either. Will ask when checking in.

Diamond normally gets a suite AFAIK, I am happy with exec benefits considering I am using HH points.

That's interesting. Does Gold always get Exec Lounge access?
Was Diamond during my last three stays and got suites, but back to Gold now.

Is this the same for the Hilton?

Mind you my friend who is mid-status with Shangrila, has always got upgraded to Club Floor during KL F1 as well, so think upgrades are relatively easy to come by.

Had been thinking of going closer into town this year, but the above might change this

Apparently Gold always gets the benefits as per the letter, impressive given I am spending 40000 points on a five night stay.

Yesterday I received an email from the DTKL about my booking - looks like my travel organiser finally put the correct HH details into the booking. I asked them to confirm my Exec. Lounge access, which they did. However regarding the complimentary laundry:

"Hereby I would like to confirm with you that your booking is for an executive suite inclusive of Executive Floor Lounge Access. Complimentary laundry is unfortunately only applicable for our gold/diamond Hilton Honors members."

The wording is a little different to the letter Markis had posted.

Oh, thats interesting. I thought it was an exec room benefit, I certainly read it that way when I stayed last time ... perhaps a lost in translation thing? Was a wonderful perk as I always burn through my clothing in SE Asia and having comp laundry, even a little bit, is really appreciated.

Photos would do the delicacies more justice :D

Enjoy!
Sadly, photos would be an injustice - the pieces generally look dried out and undesirable and, to be honest, some are - but most are really nice.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

The actual LRT fare on the card is MYR2 to Ampang Park, when leaving the station take the escalators closest to the ticket office on your left, once upstairs its a short walk to the overpass escalators leading you to the DT, all covered.
The first time here I turned right as past the ticket gates there were signs to the DT indicating go right.

If you turn left and head up the escalators, then you get to a place where you will see the metallic DT signs point up the escalator in post #56.

If you do turn right you end up at Ampang Park "Plaza" which is open from 10am daily. It is shorter once you work it out (but no good before 10am as the Plaza is not open).
