Yes I had the Macquarie Hilton and the rollover nights dropped to zero. But I thought you only get the rollover for the nights in excess of the nights required to qualify for a tier. So since I didn't have any excess in the 2019 calendar year, then the 2020 rollover night count from 2019 would be zero.
Same here.

It seems I was under the false impression that the Macquarie awarded status was equivalent to 60 nights.

I don't think they gifted nights as such. You'd still need to stay 60+ nights to get any rollover.

It makes sense. I am just wondering why I received roll over nights this time last year considering nothing has really changed with where my Diamond status came from and I have never stayed 60 nights in a year.

It was good while it lasted. 😏

Edit: That card will be sorely missed

Gday

I had the same experience as earlyriser. Last year there were roll over nights awarded and this year not. Dont really mind as still Diamond and it says i need no nights to retain Diamond which is encouraging.

That card was (overly) generous to many. Not sure why, but I know of Diamond status being granted where benchmarks were continually never met. 😀. Sad loss.

Roll-over nights, carried forward, were actually meant to be those nights that were excess to maintaining/meeting status requirements in a given year. If I stayed 80 nights in 2018 (only needing 60 to keep Diamond), then 20 nights were carried over to count in 2019. However, again, some were very well treated by system glitches. Not to say that this happened to everyone. Also, at some point, nights near the end of the year were double-counted, as a promoted benefit.

How many nights did you stay in '19?

Can't remember exactly but about 35-40. So not enough to earn any rollover nights per the usual calculation. But the year before I had less nights stayed but their computer still awarded some rollover nights. Like I said doesn't matter. I was just pleased to see that Diamond looks to be carrying forward to 31 March 2021 per original guidance. We will know for sure on 1st April this year. I was dreading chasing this up.

We probably won’t be seeing the likes of that card again.

If you need zero nights to re-qualify, wouldn't that suggest you have status through March '22?

Same here. In accordance with assurances of keeping status until 31 March 2021. So far, so good. 😀
