OK - I know this is a lost cause but...

Just sorting my expenses for last month and I noticed my stay at the Doubletree on Lex seemed high - I rechecked the bill itself and see that I wass overcharged by US$120 for one of the nights. I didnt notice when I cehcked out as I used the quick check machine and was running to the office.

Just wondering if this is worth emailing them to ask for a refund or will the company just have to suck it down?

I'd definately contact them, if only for the principal.

As a TA I find hotels are usually pretty reasonable if its a genuine mistake on their part.

Do you want an answer from an auditor's perspective :p .

I have been overcharged twice before

Once was when 2 digits got transposed on between the invoice and the credit card machine. Was no problem getting it sorted

Once was when the transaction went through 6 times! on my credit card. More troublesome to resolve :(

I got charged twice for a one night stay at the Embassy suites in TPA. It was a prepaid rate and then got charged again on check-out as well. I did not notice the overcharge until a month later when I returned to Australia.

After a few polite emails the second charge was reversed and I even made a small profit on the exchange rate.
