I see the Alice and Darwin Hilton/DTs are up on the web but still not bookable. I'm really looking forward to trying these ones, so a few questions for anyone in the know....

1. Which one in Darwin would be best for location?
2. Any exec lounges?

The Hilton is the best for location and will have a lounge, I will miss it as a Crowne Plaza.

Not only not bookable but also no longer there as per a search of the HH website a few minutes ago as I am also anxious to book. Hopefully this means some activity is about to occur not that it has fallen through.

The Hilton seems to have an executive lounge.

The Doubletrees in Alice Springs and Darwin can now be booked. The Hilton does not as yet have rates. By the hotel addresses Hilton seems to think that Darwin is in Alice Springs  None of them are now bookable as IHG hotels after May 1.

Natural mistake, after all it is only just down the road a tad.......like about half a continent down the road!

They will but you will have to fight for benefits, as it will be considered a 3rd party booking, I would rebook.

That's my feeling too. The Hilton rate is $35 per night higher than the CP rate I have on the same days but breakfast, internet and executive lounge access I think more than make up for that. I also have a PC award booking which I guess will be history.

I think PC have already stated the award booking won't be honoured (or should that be spelt honored )

I have been a regular stayer at CP Darwin for the past 7 years. Was there this week and have been advised by Hotel that my forward bookings have been honoured. Staff are saying that Hilton will status match me. Its going to be an interesting month of May as I stay 1st May the first day of Hilton running the place. Works started on the foyer last Friday.

Bookings will be honored but you wont get HH points without a fight. Its standard practice for revenue bookings to be held but because you did not make the bookings on the hilton site, points are not awarded.

I suspect you are right but will provide an update following 1st of May stay.

They have spent a good deal of money to establish it. Most of the staff have transferred to Hilton. Will include a report on the lounge.

Is anyone sure a lounge will be included? I know markis10 has suggested previously there will be one, but I assumed that would have been due to CP having one (which apparantly it didn't). Parmelia doesn't and I don't think any of the NZ Hiltons do, so maybe they'll forgo the lounge. I do remember talk of all Hiltons standardising with lounges, but was that just talk?

EDIT: markis10 beat me......please ignore!
