Hi just wondering if anyone has any recent experience at the Hilton Adelaide.
Especially interested in the following:

As a Diamond have booked the base room what can I expect as a upgrade?

What hours does the Exec lounge serve drinks and canapés?

Quality of food and beverage in the Exec lounge?

Is breakfast just continental in the lounge?

I normally stay at the IC but on this occasion have opted for the Hilton.

Thanks in advance

As a gold, I've always received an upgrade to the executive floor.

What hours does the Exec lounge serve drinks and canapés?
From memory, it's 6:00pm-8:30pm weeknights and 6:00pm-8:00pm weekends.

Quality of food and beverage in the Exec lounge?
Food is ok. Selection of cold meats, cheeses, dips, bread etc. and a couple of hot items. Last time I was there they had some steamed dim sims and small Vili's pies. There's a selection of basic spirits, approx. 4 different beers, a couple of reds and whites. Not a bad selection overall.

Is breakfast just continental in the lounge?
As a diamond, you have the choice between the EL and full buffet in the restaurant. On my last stay, I had breakfast in the restaurant on both mornings I was there. They charged me for coffee one day but not the next so not sure what the policy on this is.

Hi Smart Flyer,
I've added in comments above. Hope they can be of assistance.

Overall, I always choose the Hilton when I'm in Adelaide. Areas of the hotel are a little dated (but so is the IC), however I really enjoy the feel of the hotel and the service provided. Even when I've been staying in a double room, I've still been given access to the EL despite not staying on any of the exec floors.

On my previous stay, I was told at checkin that Golds also have a choice between EL breakfast and full buffet, however the F&B supervisor told me this wasn't the case when I went down the next morning for breakfast - this is the policy for Diamonds. They did allow me to dine there free of charge, but it would be good to know what their policy actually is for future visits.

As diamond you will get an upgrade to executive room unless the hotel if full.
Executive lounge looks a bit dated (like the rest of the hotel) but quality of F&B is typical Hilton style which is not bad but not great. The wine is actually (slightly) better then in most Aussie Hiltons.
Regarding breakfast, diamonds can eat full buffet in the restaurant, not reason to have it in the lounge.
All in all its a good hotel for stay in Adelaide.

Does anyone have a good contact for this hotel? They seem very slow to reply to general enquiries. First time I've experienced this from a supposedly 5 star hotel.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a response. You're not the first person I've heard about whose enquiries to this hotel get filed in the bin.

Peer Norsell is the General Manager of the Hilton Adelaide, however I think his PA does the standard emails for guests who fill out post stay surveys - [email protected]

My last stay at Hilton at end of March as Gold, I didn't get upgraded to Exec Level (as it does not have 2 double beds) but gave me Exec Level access, plus either full breakfast downstairs or at the EL Lounge.

The breakfast in the lounge is only continental - if you want a hot breakfast you need to go to the restaurant.
