It takes ages and you will probably need to chase it up with both VA and Hilton. I moved my redemption to SQ and it happened within a week with no follow up needed.

Wow, ouch - but thanks. I assume give VA a call first?

2.5 weeks in and both have said to keep waiting. #frustrating The flight I am looking to book is still there - for now!
 
I am now a full Gold member after taking up the Explore Gold and getting 80 SC. I log into my account and to 'My Benefits' page and don't see the option for the Hilton Gold online form request.. anyone can point me to the right direction?
 
Call them as the online form looks like it works and it does nothing. If you fill in the form it doesn't register with them. If you call they fill in a working form for you and in a few days you will get an email from HH with your Gold account details

Has your Explore Gold review period passed?

Thanks. They were useless. At this stage, I will probably get the points from the latest CC sign up offer before these.
 
another experience of waiting.

registered for gold hilton honors on the 04/07 and to date no change. first rang hilton to see if anything they could do, nope. rang velocity and was told it can take up to 20 days. my advice it seems is if you register for hilton status allow a month.

its frustrating as ive already had one hilton stay i booked assuming the status change would have happened withing a week or two. it means ive missed out on the points loading of gold and the additional benefits like room upgrade. i dont understand why the data takes so long to wash from velocity to hilton.

any advice on how to prod it along?
 
I signed up for the IHG rewards option. When I went from Silver to Gold my IHG rewards status didn't upgrade (even though it was meant to) and TBH I completely forgot about chasing it up. When I went up from SC to WP just recently, the upgrade to IHG Platinum Elite didn't go through again. This time I sent IHG an email chasing it up, so see what they get back to me with (they said they'll respond within 48hrs and today is day 2...)

Applied on 10 July. Followed up Hilton yesterday on Live Chat. No record in the system.

Just got off phone (not knowing this thread was here!) to Plat Line and she has escalated to her back end and is promising something in 3-5 business days - especially as I am travelling next week.

She mentioned that it could take up to 20 business days - and I said that they should disclose that as I could not see it on the information or in the T&Cs. She said that it was in the emails I would have received...except I received no emails at all! She has also escalated that as a technical issue.

Notably I am having the same issue with the Hertz upgrade.

Yeah No emails as yet for me from IHG... however my europcar upgrade to Privilege Elite status went through automatically and within a day

Within a couple of hours I'd heard from Hertz - except they were treating me like a new member so sent the wrong email etc

as of this morning status has updated to gold. expiry 3/19, happy days

I have had the same issue regarding chasing the Hilton customer service team for an update. I received my upgrade after I found the Gold status number and the upgrade was same day of the call.
 
Both my Hilton and Hertz ones have come through, along with an email from Platinum line at Velocity confirming it.

I opted into Hilton Gold around October 2017. Had not heard anything. Sent email off to Velocity early December and again had not heard anything. In fact cannot even remember if my request was acknowledged.

Called a few days ago and they assured me they will follow up. I have received an email informing me that my Hilton status has been upgraded to Gold and is valid through to March 2020. So even though I opted-in around October they appear to have extended the status an extra year.
