Most of the time the discrepancy comes down to taxes and such. The rate is poor, but normally only by a few %

Anyone know what the 'complimentary continental breakfast' is like for HH gold members ? specifically at the Hilton Anaheim ?

Yep, for Oz stays, take the GST off first.

e.g. For a bill of AU$220, take the GST of AU$20 off and calculate the rate on the remaining AU$200.

Doing a RTW in two weeks staying at several Hilton properties. I have a 4 night stay at the Times Square NY Hilton at the end of April. I made a booking about three months ago and booked a senior rate of US$295.00++pn. Checked again today and got three nights at US$239 and a Saturday night for US$175++! So saved over US$330 over the 4 nights. Always worth checking. Mind you, the rate for a booking in SFO has gone up about the same amount so that early booking paid off.

Happy to report back that perseverance finally paid off. 2 tries, the first with excel spreadsheet emailed to hhonors support went nowhere. Last Sun, I had to call hhonors on something else and thought I'll give it another go. Anyway I managed to get hold of a super efficient lady on the phone who corrected all the stays back to July 2015. Managed to recover 40K+ points and about 4K QFF points overall. Not bad for about 20 mins phone call I thought.

The only time I have ever had a significant enough variance in expect points and what was originally credited was in realtion to a stay at ADL.

It was some years ago but was corrected with an email to the Sydney HHonors address as published back then.

I'm already thinking I'm in for strife with the DRW stay. I've changed it numerous times and now have 5 bookings in a row (due to cancelled stays at both DT's) which I've asked to be merged onto one folio. This has disaster written all over it, but we'll see, I may be pleasantly surprised.

Even if it doesn't post properly, I find the diamond desk fix it relatively easily. I just make sure to keep a folio copy and forward it on after 2 weeks.

We'll see! ;)

It hasn't posted correctly.....but it's also not too far out this time (all things considered, it turning into 6 nights due to a missed flight). Anyway, I'll wait the couple of weeks then hit them up.

I always keep my stays on a spreadsheet as invariably it goes off the rails at some time during each year. Not normally major but on one occasion was the difference between keeping Diamond or not.

My speadsheet has VA/QF/HH/Europcar........just to keep them all honest (which is nearly a full time job). There is no way I could keep track of them and plan the upcoming tallies without it!
