Hey Qantas, why is it that ....?

Sorry you have no right to say my opinion is wrong.

The right came as soon as you posted it on a public forum. I agree with all MEL_Traveller has to say on the issue. In my opinon, your opinion is wrong.

Do we, how do I apply for that. It certainly hasn't been offered to me since I attained LTG back in 2007. :(

With a lifetime QP membership, if you don't care for the dom J or int F lounges, you could credit your miles to a partner airline program that has a better earn/burn ratio, and keep your lounge access when flying on QF/JQ flights.

Why is it that from Australia to JNB one way, QF only offer fully flexible tickets?
Your OW partners (current and soon to be) offer more restrictive (but less expensive and more time consuming) options.

As QF actually does the opposite direction (K class ex JNB)

Happy wandering (perhaps away from QFi)

Awsome Andy has a good point and I'm doing just that over Christmas - thanks for the idea. I didn't intend to start a war on this with my original post, I just thought Qantas could maybe delete the part that said they were saving me money. There are also some valid points about buying a "lifetime" service and assuming the company will be around or prepared to meet the commitment. I'll stop complaining now and use the advice from another great source to use my Aegean ff to go RTW with Star Alliance and use my lifetime Qantas Club when I'm not flying business. Thanks to all those positive and helpful advisors.

Hey Qantas, why is it that... your fuel surcharges have nothing to do with the price of fuel?

and credit card surcharges bear no resemblance to the price of credit card surcharges (on an individual basis).

want to raise that issue again so it doesn't get forgotten.

why rip off your passengers qantas??

That's another pet hate of mine! I thought they outlawed "unreasonable" credit card surcharges?

I usually just pay by BPay to avoid the CC fee - made it interesting a while back when I was entitled to a partial refund on a booking as the only refund process they had for BPay was for me to send copies of my ticket, bank statement and a bunch of other things, then wait 4 weeks for a cheque in the mail!

If that was me I would be writing to QF and demanding a flat "Cheque Handling Fee" if they cannot refund through BPay.....

I would like to see their reasoning as to why they would not pay it.

Why is it that the SSKs give you a coughpy piece of paper as a boarding pass instead of the cardboard ones like they used to? I'm slightly nostalgic you see and like the cardboard ones.

Agree!!!!! The cardboard ones are so much better- the paper ones just fall apart

Why do your planes look like this? This was QF63 SYD-JNB on the 10th Sep. It was an unrefurbished 747 and one of the toilets in the old F section (the inside of the door). There was a third hole further up. Now I know the short answer is that these planes are due for retirement/refurbishing, but seriously - this is just awful! We paid something like $6k per person and you get a plane that looks like this?QF63 10 September 2013.jpg

I can understand how to urinate in the top hole, but how on earth am I supposed to defecate in the second one?

Unfortunate state of affairs. Wasn't by chance ripped out by nicotine deprived passenger?

It did occur to me that perhaps Godzilla had escaped from the cargo bay on the previous flight :) I am not normally a picky person, but I thought this was a bit too much....

According to the QF source, that was VH-OEB. I thought it was recently reconfigured?

I agree with all comments above, but I must say I`m always grateful to arrive at my destination having an uneventful flight, i.e. didn`t get shot at, didn`t fall out of the sky.:)

OEB isn't one of the ER's (Isn't she an ugly sister?), meaning that she missed out on a re-furb (it is the 6 RR's, OJU, S and T getting the make over). It almost looks as if someone has ripped something out and the running repairs weren't completed on time. Pretty tacky isn't it.

You're correct; I was being careful with my choice of words, she did not get a refurb but she did get reconfigured in July to a higher density 14F/52J/32W/255Y configuration. Whilst not a refurbishment as such, I would expect them to have fixed a hole in the wall during this time! (Unless it occurred afterwards, but even so...)

I had heard that Qantas were upstyling their internal plane artwork so I'm wondering if this just art?
