Sadly a Gold VA card won't help. You need Gold on Star Alliance and VA isn't part of Star.

I had no idea until now........shock horror ..... Shattered

Excellent! Will do it next month, finally can put my Amigo card to good use :)

Avianca Brazil, bless you.

(Oh, bless you too PF, for the advice :) )

If your initial post was in jest I apologise but as the initial post doesn't have emojis or other visual indications of humour it's difficult to interpret it that way.

I will stump up for the 8 £ ........and no I was serious ........it hadn't clicked in my mind ( about Star Alliance and VA) until now hence my :eek

Most likely not ...... However another reality has been updated :)

Here's the Ts&Cs:

Star Alliance - The way the earth connects

It states to/from T2 but that's shared with T3. From memory the sections between T5 and T4 are free anyway?

I assume you can use this with an advanced purchase tix? Which would make it even better deal. As low as £5.50 on weekends.

Yes it is free to transfer between 2/3 and 4 or 5. As you just show your FF card to the inspector onboard it should be ok with any ticket.

By no means sure I will be using HEX but would be interesting to see if I could get my (status-less) old mum along in F too. Probably moot.

They do say "full fare standard class ticket " , so advances are likely ruled out. I would ask the guard before sitting down as incorrectly using the promotion could lead to an on board purchase of a new ticket - which would be around 40 pounds.

Or a send-off maybe

A report or two on FT from the last promo suggesting that some guards hadn't heard of it and was used by a couple on comp tickets
