Partner and I are booked in First on A380 LHR-AUH in September and eventually on to SYD three days later.

Mother-in-law booked in Business. I'd like to try to upgrade her to First (if a seat is available) but I know from experience that Etihad don't offer upgrades for certain fare classes.

I checked her booking, made through Flight Centre, and can't find anything other than 'ZPV30RAU/PREM'.

Any ideas if this ticket is upgradeable. Does the initial 'Z' represent 'Z' class?

Any hints on increasing chances of an upgrade are also appreciated.

Grrr ... "Sorry, your ticket is not eligible for this offer at this time." Although it says at this time, from experience it means not ever. Oh well, she will just have to survive in J. :)

Thanks for the tip. Appreciated.

Hi there, can you please send us your mother-in-law's booking reference in a private message here, or one of our Social Media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), so we can have a look into her booking and advise you of the upgrade options. *Ivy
