Welcome.
Even with no CC you could always use the new Qantas cash to earn some points with your normal spending.

While we bragging about rosters, mine is currently 2/7 (that's 2 on, 7 off) :)

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Long time lurker here, finally registered because I needed some guidance.

A bit about myself, I work just outside of Darwin on a 7/7 roster and FIFO of Manila. I hate flying, airports and airplane meals but the destination (especially away from work) makes it worth it.

I'm like someone with needle phobia injecting heroi_ just for the 'destination'.

I became a QFF member JUN 2012, got Gold membership within the year and have around 244k points to use up. I had plans to use the points for Brazil 2014 but left my NYE plans open until now. My first post is about my dilemma.

Just came in to say G'day. I'll go back into my hole now.

Apollo :)

Hi and welcome to AFF :)

Thanks for the warm welcomes, just got back to reality.

Now, what, pray tell is the Chairman's Lounge? Question is slightly rhetorical as I will search for it myself but am curious as to what it is and who gets it....hmmm

AVC what line of work are you in and how do I get in? ;P

Buzzard That's an interesting concept, I wonder what their retention rates were like. Ours is shocking!

The German chap I met was a teacher. His 4 year salary was was divided by 5 so that say he earned 25,000 per year (100,000 over 4 years) he would then be paid 20,000 per year still achieving 100,000. Adjustments would be made for pay increases.
He said it was great as he was then in a lower tax bracket and you live according to what you earn.
He told me he spent every 5th year touring various countries on his push bike. His salary appeared in his account each month as usual.

Perhaps better answered by some-one who is part of it :( but the CL is by-invitation-of-the-Chairman-of-Qantas only. The categories for invitation, as I understand it include Politicians, CEOs, Chairman etc of (large) corporations, 'celebrities' and the like. Basically those who Qantas like to have as prestige customers AND who wouldn't like to be cheek-by-jowl with the hoi-polloi in regular lounges. There is no flying frequency hurdle or requirement.

In the pecking order of seating, seat availability and service, CL members trump everyone else.

The actual CLs are behind unmarked doors usually in the vicinity of regular QPs. Not a secret, but I'll leave you to entertain yourself in spotting them.

Here's a story about the CL: Photos: Inside the Qantas Chairman's Lounge

Also, those who control the spend direction of several million+ of annual travel budget are often invited to CL membership.
