So, against my better judgement I succumbed to the lure of 5k in FlyBuys bonus points being offered by Jetset/Travelworld for QF domestic bookings.

As I'm in MEL and had some spare cash, I decided to take a sidetrip to ADL this Monday to build up some SC, QFF points and the like. Having received my FlyBuys statement last week, there was information in the magazine on a current promotional offer from Jetset/Travelworld, offering 5k in FlyBuys bonus points on QF domestic bookings.

Considering the service charges wern't all that much, I decided to book the MEL-ADL-MEL fare with them and take those points on offer. I have now come to the conclusion that it was a big mistake, and should stick to booking through the airline websites like I've always done.

What brought me to this conclusion you ask? The fact they have double/triple charged me for the flight sectors, double charged me the service fee (which strangely their system automatically credited back), and charged me three amounts of $1 for which they can't even explain.

So thanks to their inept booking engine, I'm currently out of pocket $362 until they sort it out. However, thanks to QF's finance team already having gone home for the weekend by the time I had got hold of someone at NAB and figured out it was Jetset/Travelworld who made all these repeated transactions.

So yes, it's left a pretty bad taste in my mouth and not exactly worth all the trouble for the 10k in FlyBuys points I will receive in due time. Yes, 10k in points because their booking engine is offering the bonus as 5k in bonus points per sector and not per booking. Also not helped by the fact their booking engine generated a PNR for each sector instead of a combined PNR for the entire booking, hence the 10k.

I think that's a very good description of Wesfarmers.
