I'm travelling to Malta next year, flying into LHR on QF1 and onwards to Malta 4 hours later.
The LHR-MLA sector is on a separate ticket (can't be put on the same PNR as QF sectors).
Googling, the various sites talk about transiting on a single ticket within 24 hours of arrival to avoid the tax.
I can't find any information on whether or not the tax is payable even though I am transiting LHR, but on two tickets.
Anyone know the answer?
