My flights are with AB and BA, (abba .. ha ha!) so will be interesting to see how any possible cancellations are dealt with.
Where would BA divert to?? Another english airport , FRA?

Given it's a LHR-EDI flight I would think it would just not take off![]()
I would expect FRA as well, of course then you have issues with backage potentially going missing as well lol.
Just checking my travel insurance policy now to make sure I am covered.

Generally speaking I don't think compensation wise you're entitled to anything when there is issues due to weather, think back to the volcano saga....

Actually, it's just snow and it happens a lot in the UK - certainly not an "Extraordinary circumstance" so compensation may arguably be payable.Generally speaking I don't think compensation wise you're entitled to anything when there is issues due to weather, think back to the volcano saga....

OK we were told QF29 may not leave FRA until tonight so we have decided to take the express ICE to Brussels then Eurostar to London meaning we will get to London 7pm tonight, currently on the train, feels a bit like we are on the amazing race!
QF have been absolutely amazing, even that it was clearly beyond their control.
QF agent at the hotel said QF would reimburse some of the train ticket costs, has anybody had any experience with this type of thing?
Shhh, don't tell NoNews we wouldn't want that to get out!
The Sky News headlines were saying "1400 Qantas passengers stranded in Heathrow'' showing a QF A380 at a snow covered airport. I'm thinking gee that amazing BA, SQ & EK haven't had any problems.![]()
Then when the bulletin gets to the main story it then says merely "over 1,000 passengers stranded at Heathrow Airport....."
Nothing like still trying to wring out every last drop of QF A380 drama is there???
Our 17:59 Eurostar train has been cancelled but we have a boarding pass for the next one????, the 18:59 train has been delayed 50 mins :-| We are in the business lounge so that is a good sign......
The Eurostar terminal is heaving.
For my first cold Christmas it's been an exciting adventure  let's hope London is our resting place this evening and not the Eurostar terminal
