I know about the adaptors that allow you to plug your own headphones into the twin socket -- I've got one.

But I need one the other way around -- to plug the aircraft-supplied headset (I'm in PE) into my iPad. Is there such a thing? This will save me taking my own noise-cancelling headphones.

I couldn't find one using Google.

I believe the third pin on the J headphones is used for power (for the noise cancelling), so won't be any use.

What you're probably after is something similar to :
Audiogear.com

If it doesn't fit no great loss; I'll just take my own headphones.

That one from Dealextreme won't work well AFAIK. You need one that splits the output into a LEFT and RIGHT channel so that the headphones work properly.

I'll have a dig around the Dealextreme website and see what I can find.

If you can't wait for postage, Tandys and **** Smiths have them.
