Heads up about program changes

Ah well...made my first phone MASA last night for Feb next year.

Might get one or two more in before the change but I'm not too concerned. Had moved the majority of my earning to AAnother program. Was only really keeping QF as a receptacle for my EDR points and for the domestic flying I do. Nothing much keeping me on their metal internationally now.

Well I booked my first JASA ever in April and it looks like my last. With my ability to earn both points and SCs being curtailed I guess I should concentrate now on Velocity.

That new table is mind boggling and definitely not simple, especially the partner airlines/international tables.
If we can't easily make sense of this table then the general travelling public will not either..

I am more confused than ever. Thumbs down from me.

Already looking at AA now for my FF programme.

So from Perth to HK on CX in J the SC drop by 20! There is no other sensible way out of Perth to get to Hong Kong.

if I go on to LAX on CX I'm getting penalised again.

Also the new qantas earn tables refer to "North West Australia". There is no West Australia!

May I remind Qantas that there is shortly no more international flights from Perthl

This really is cough.

i feel a CX status match request coming On.

My head is spinning as I try to read through this:shock:....I suspect the overall outcome is worse off for us the humble QF FF....but I will let others update this thread with the detailed analysis. All I have to say is that I will be reanalysing my travel practices once I have absorbed all these changes, and then will make a decision as to where I direct my personal and business travel.

Partner SC earn in J to Europe has basically halved!

Have booked J on CX to CDG via HKG. Was counting on earning 560 SC return, now looks like only 280.

Most unhappy. The least they could do is keep the old earn for tickets already booked.

This evening, Qantas will announce some changes

Dammit Red Roo!
The Virgin lounges and VA row 3 are crowded enough!
Please make your program better so all these new VFF'ers will go back where they came from.

Talk about really hammering down on partners other than EK...

a MEL-DOH flight in J that would get me 180 SC one-way will now only get me 80 SC!!!! A reduction of 55%

Looks like I will have to maintain my QR Gold status and forget about crediting to QFF.

I have a paid First class booking coming up with Qatar, which will net me 60SC's one-way under the new table I will only get 30SC's Seriously!!!

Byebye QF!

You will be protected from thess changes as your tickets were booked prior to Mar 27.

I gave up on MASAs after they were taken offline. I hate phones and reading about people's variable experiences were another turn off. I have been trying to screw up the courage to try one, so at least this means I won't have to torment myself.... I wonder if they are going to change status earn in F on domestic trips in the USA?

Please don't tap the glass!!!

Being based in Perth, I can't see much downside as everything is basically long haul. They key is obviously to fly business as much as possible. I didn't read it but I would have liked to have seen if you did a points upgrade to a better class that you earned that class's points and SC. Given you effectively paid for the upgrade (unless you got an OP UP of course).

That would be great if so, but I couldn't see any reference to that. Just says flights taken from 1 July and no reference to booking date. Not sure if they would even see the booking date for a CX ticket.

Basically looks like a big reduction for destinations which QF flights are a possibility, same earn as before for others.
