I've always found AFFers to have useful advice about anything, no matter how specific/rare the question.

I'm taking Little Miss Tork on her first trip to dad's homeland: the LOTFAP. She'll be 2.5 years old and on QF107 from SYD-LAX in Y+ on a 747. Then JFK-xLAX-SYD in one trip on the way back. I've done as AFFers suggested and got her an iPad. (Yes, I know: "This guy has a first world problem...") I then went wild on iTunes and bought 2 series of Pingu, 10 episodes of Play School, 20 podcasts of Sesame Street, and so on.

Now I need to get her some headphones that are safe, comfy for kids' small heads, and won't keep falling off her like dad's do.

Any suggestions? She's not a restless kid when she's watching videos. "Totally hypnotised" is more like it, so she hopefully won't be grabbing at them much. I've tried iPod earbuds, but she finds them uncomfortable (too big, I think) and she picks at them.

All help greatly appreciated as usual.

I have no idea what sort would suit her but have you considered going into the store and trying them on?

I guess some of the other parents might have some ideas.

We have some Sony kids headphones for Little Miss now 5. Got them when she was ~3. They are good from a fit perspective, bit also be ause there is a volume limit. A wee lne can happily turn up the volume to bloody loud without realising they'll regret it in a little while.
the Y+ headsets might be OK for her, and the children's channels on the IFE (wear that out & let her do hwr own things with stopping & starting & changing cartoonchannels before pulling out the iPad) could be good. We had issues when Little Miss was younger in Y and J seats with IFE wcreens in the back of the headrest of the seat in front - she was not tall enough to aee them. Y+ with arm-rest sceeens should be better (my Little Miss also has eyesight issues & now wears glasses, so I can't be sure if it was a height or eyesight issue).

Actually as I am using my headphones less and moved over to a smaller in ear Bluetooth set of headphones boygr is currently using my Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones. The lack of wires means he can rock out to the wiggles on the iPad and dance around the room whilst we are left in peace and quiet...

What she said! :) We have the same headphones for our daughter (I assume).

Sony MDR-222. I believe they are discontinued by Sony, but still available on Ebay

SONY MDR-222 Lightweight Childrens Kids Headphones for iPod iPhone MP3 PINK | eBay

And they're pink!

You know what? They're exactly the ones we have! Slightly worse for wear now, and Little Miss will happily use Dad's or the QF J noise cancelling ones, but she's a lot older than the OP's child. And hopefully therefore has a commensurably larger head. :)
