[h=1]Hawaiian Airlines to Start A330 Service to Sydney from late-May 2012[/h] by JL
Update at 0700GMT 26DEC11
From 22MAY12, Hawaiian Airlines is introducing Airbus A330-200 aircraft on its Honolulu – Sydney service on daily basis, replacing Boeing 767-300ER.
Schedule:

HA451 HNL1245 – 1920+1SYD 332 D
HA452 SYD2120 – 1055HNL 332 D

Perhaps Qantas should follow their example? ;)

Haha, there's plenty of things QF should do. It amazes me hnl still gets 763 and mnl now gets 330s.

Perhaps this will finally push QF into a change.

QF are doing very well with those 763's and they are full........so they must be something right

It is easy to fill a flight when the only competition you have is with your own LCC and you have such a popular destination as HNL!

Look up the term 'gravy train' in the dictionary and you will find a picture of QF003 I guarantee it!

Like it or not those planes are in the fleet. If you don't like them on the SYD-HNL route, where do you think Qantas should deploy them?

I don't understand how J can be full at $11K per seat...

Victorville.

Disagreed. I think they would provide a better product on the Transcon Red-Eyes not to dissimilar to the Virgin equivalent.

Agreed that the gimmicks such as IFE aren't there, but there are some people who swear by the 767's.

Only $5.5k on special at the moment.

Cabin full of honeymooners, upgrades, package deals, staff, ff awards. Also 767j isn't that huge.a cabin.

I used points to upgrade on 733 service several years ago, cabin was full to then.

25 seats - very popular with FF for upgrades and redeeming points. Staff - it is one of the worse routes for staff travel, getting on is an achievement at times, let alone an upgrade

What lounge (if any) can we use at HNL if flying HA451 (AAward flight) HNL -SYD (QFF Plat & QFF Gold & 2 QFF NB).

As Qantas has no affiliation with Hawaiian Airlines I highly doubt you would be able to get into any lounge in HNL purely based on QFF status.

Exactly the reason for my query as this is an AA award (one world) ticket - I thought that Hawaiian was on the other side of the coin - aligned with Virgin etc.

None, unless you are flying in J class on HA (in which case you an use the HA lounge). There is a Qantas Club/AA Admirals Club, but you must be flying on a oneworld marketed and operated flight to access them.

AA and HA do have a reciprocal arrangement that predates oneworld (rather like QF has with South African, for example - or now with EK!). However I think you'll find it is restricted to AA members only.

Don't be too disappointed, the QF lounge in HNL is nothing to write home about.. ;)

I've done the QF HNL lounge before and would agree, however it is better than waiting outside. We are all AA members (no status) but may be able to wing our way in with a Priority Pass.
