My husband has controlled heart failure. He has had a pacemaker/defibulator for 3 years. In fact, he is fitter than i am and manages all the demands of running our farm. We obtained travel insurance 2 years ago, paid an additional premium and went to EU for 9 weeks with no problems. He turned 70 last and it appears that factor may have contributed to the inability to obtaining insurance. There may be one offering of accepting the condition if we pay an additional $2500. Does anyone know of any recent evidence of a successful acceptance of Heart Failure with any Insurance Company

Try SOuthern Cross Travel Insurance, can't comment on your husband per se but they are very good for these types of things usually

Try Covermore and Insureandgo. We have had Covermore for many years as an annual policy. Won't cover my husband now for an annual policy because of his age but Insureandgo will.

What I like about these two companies, apart from good reviews is that you can do an online pre existing medical assessment and know instantly whether they will cover you and how much extra. Ringing and talking to people who have no knowledge and only have boxes to tick was not successful for my husbands medical problems ( he is a retired doctor ).
