Has the HSW gone downhill in Elite Treatment?

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I'm reading this thread and feeling very mixed - I've never gone to HOTP, instead always preferring HSW in recent years, but now find that I need to be around Collingwood for three days in June, and HOTP might be a better location. It's sounding like with Brett Christ at HOTP I should probably book there (I'm Diamond). Am I mad?

I don't know, but there are enough good reports coming out recently to entice me to make two bookings in the not too distant future and the Brett Christ news is even more comforting.

I stay at HOTP quite regularly and have been given a relaxation suite evey time except my first stay. I quite like the lounge too.

Ive only had a 50% success rate with suite upgrades at HSW so am definitely considering a night or two soon at HOTP to check it out. Let's see what happens next weekend at HSW.

I'll be at HSW next Saturday. Happy to buy you a drink in the lounge if you will be there!

Will be in the lounge next Saturday for a quick beer before heading to the MCG for the Collingwood - Geelong game. So I'll take you up on that.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I posted my stay details in the "How do Hilton treat you as an elite" thread, but in summary:

The attention to detail is still lacking. There does not seem to be the commitment by the staff to provide a level of service comensurate with the Hilton name. HOTP staff have a passion that is rarely seen at HSW.

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

I'm still not certain about things now that I've checked into HOTP for the first time. It's much older, rooms are much smaller and the executive lounge is tiny and at least for afternoon tea wasn't anything terribly exciting (stale pastries and some nuts). I'm going up for canapes but if it's not much better I might be going back to HSW next time.

Did you get a Relaxation Suite at HOTP?

Checked into HOTP yesterday, reservation online was showing relaxation suite, as usual (I stay here about 2 x 2 night stays a month) - anyway I was downgraded to an exec room as they were "selling the upgrades". Fair enough, although the bloke checking in next to me, on a points stay as well, for one night as well, never stayed there before by his questions (do you have a lounge) he gets a comp upgrade to relax suite.......

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

Last weekend I had a twin room booked for my son and me at HSW. Fortunately for him (apparently I snore!) we were upgraded to a two bedroom suite. So I still love HSW.

Just checked in to HOTP and I have a relaxation suite for two nights. I also love HOTP!

Re: How do Hilton treat you as an Elite?

From my experience of late HSW have been trying hard to lift their game and get back to being everyone preference.

HSW is trailing a dining experience in the Executive lounge. Today is day two of the trial so a couple of us thought we might give it a go.

From what I can see it seems like a pretty good deal at $37 (minus 20% for those eligible)

Photos of the setup and menu are attached.

I'll post my thoughts after we have eaten.

Does anyone know how long this lasted?

The other night it wasn't on and I was even denied the option of ordering room service to the lounge - which is the exact same concept.

It was being offered in a slightly different format on Monday 20th may but not tonight.

For those who know her Reshvin Gill (Resh) the Front Office Supervisor has her last day at HSW tomorrow but is looking forward to taking up her new roll at Customer Service Manager at the Hilton in Abu Dhabi.

Your room type preferences have been submitted with your reservation, and are subject to hotel availability.

So they don't have to honor what you booked if they don't have it.

If they put you in a room that sells for less, they should adjust the rate downward to that of the room they give you. Although, by that time the room rate is probably higher anyway.
Most of the time I have no idea what type of room I am in. Most look the same although the sizes do vary.

But I would hate to book a King Deluxe and be given a Standard Twin room without appropriate compensation.

Well I have booked a HSW night on Sat 7th just to try them out. It's been many months since I stayed there and I have changed from Gold to Diamond. Lets see whether my past stay history helps. iPhone Hilton App still shows (booked) King Hilton Guestroom Plus, not expecting it to change before T-24 hours.
