Tried a dummy booking to PEK, and there were numerous options, including CX/KA, MU codeshares, and then even CA and HX as connecting flights.
precisely so I think the thread title is somewhat misleading.
With daily flights Cairns to/from HKG (some via BNE) its very hard to snag a seat on CX via QFF probably because they are near full, you see Q in their wisdom gave up CNS/HKG years ago and CX have been laughing ever since.
It is a question as opposed to a statement.

For me it is not the codeshares so much.Just my two cents... Airlines start and stop code sharing with whoever they like, within or outside of alliances.. In this case I think the whole Jetstar HK situation and the fact that CX has partnered with NZ might be the factors.
