Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

The Jasas are only for me,the bit between HK and London is being done as a classic and rest of the trips where Jasas,
as a point of interest i went on the QF Site today and could book a business class ticket for around $4000 so I can't see where the $5000 is coming from

Perhaps it's time to try the time honoured process: HUACA. :)

Better still

Just had confirm ation from FF desk that the SYD/PER is treated as Flexible business hence the 90 SC's and 5800 points, all for $37

I have heaps of FASA/JASA to go all booked out of ports with no $150/$300 change fee, so cheap domestic holidays here I come.

i will try to revalidate teh FASA/JASA/s for my next SC year and then trow on the domestic legs ( all of these should have a further 12 months change space).

I hopefully can get another WP year out of this play ;)

Seems this MASA gig gets even better.

Thought I was on a winner being able to add the leg to PER in J for $37 earning (95 SC's + 5800 points) at a differnt date to my SYD arrival from NRT on 12/3/15.

This works for all my other JASA/FASA flights and I get 12 months to fly the PER sector ( inc ability to change flight dates without charge) from the nominated date of travel which is upto 12 months from my arrival date of 12/3/15.

So now I've started to add connecting flights on the same basis in Australia on differnt dates to get TO my SYD departure.

Again not needing to travel on same dates, only a date before my SYD departure date.

A nice trip to PER for example would involve a Classic flight to PER then the return J JASA to SYD for $37 plus a further 95 SC's +5800 points linked to my international JASA/FASA.

I have had remaks placed in all my JASA/FASA to ensure I don't go through the process of teh agent looking up internal fare codes each time I call.

This has to be the best SC run ever ;)

Almost done on a JASA SYD TSV SYD
180 SCs under new regime. Will miss these
Happy. Just arrived BNE and jumped to earlier flight to SYD

This MASA keeps on getting better.

Have JASA SYD/JNB/SYD this Saturday and added a SYD/PER ( to maximise the SC run 95 SC's +5800 QF points) in mid March next year all for $68 in taxes ;)

Will be able to change the SYD/PER flight date upto a year after this March 2016 date thereby pushing another 95 SC's into my next Status year

Woah. I have a LHR-MEL-SYD that I could add something like a SYD-ADL onto... will look into it

Best of luck The Premium desk has been very helpful, even though it takes a bit of time for them to look every thing up for the old fares codes

Am I reading this correct, infinity? I have a FASA MEL-LHR in May. Not sure how I'm getting to MEL yet, but are you saying I could add a SYD-MEL, CNS-MEL or BNE-MEL sector onto the FASA and still protect the FASA conditions (and earn the correct Points and SCs)?

What do you say to the Agent to get them to understand what they need to do and so they don't mess anything up?

thats correct.

Depending upon your need for SC's you woul dobviously need to fly the sectore before the MEL/LHR departure.

The best SC's would be PER/MEL or from Darwin or Broome for example.

You will still earn normal SC's/points on the MEL/LHR sector

Just ask teh agen to add an inbound sector to connect with yoru FASA and not it need not be flown on teh day of yoru MEL departure, but can be any time before.

you should only pay the taxes.

good luck

I managed to get a JASA booked before they vanished 1 way BKK-SYD.

So just now I've added on a SYD-OOL segment at $63 taxes per pax.

I rang and selected international flights.
Provided the booking ref.
Then said it was "an unusual booking" as it earned SCs & points and was booked using points & $.
The operator looked at the booking and said it was an Any Seat booking.

He took the details I wanted to add then went away ... with some back and forth he got it done.

Took about 20 mins as the operator had to work out what to do and need a supervisor.
I made it very clear that I needed to preserve the original ticket for SC & Point earning.
The agent said the original ticket was an ANY Seat Award and he worked out how to add this domestic segment and assured SCs & points would be earned.

Happy days I say. Wooo hooo and additional 40 x SCs for a flight I was going to take in Y for $63 per pax.

The ticket was emailed to me in 20 mins.

This is good news.

I have a SYD-DXB JASA which I want to tack a BNE-SYD on the front, and an LHR-MEL-SYD which I want to tack a SYD-BNE on to the end. Seems like this is possible.

I would be dubious about any change more than one year from the original ticketing date however, despite assurances from the operators. The ASA SC bot they run will likely be switched off on June 30, the anniversary of their demise.

Self and SWMBO just back from FASA SYD-LHR. Due to changed circumstances added DRW-SYD J Return with 5 days in Sydney each end for about $1000 each onto the booking about two months after. All four flights originally posted as 0 points/SC but changed to SC and points earn within about three days each time with no prompting.

You booked a return SYD-DRW on your FASA? I wonder using that logic if I could possibly add a return leg to my only JASA - BNE-MEL...?

I booked 4 Jasas for atrip to the uk in May in June last year, today I tried to move the booking back a week today with the Platinim desk, the girl tried but stated a $ 150 change fee, on the first leg Sydney to Hong Kong it would cost me an additional $5000 and all the other legs would incur charges as well I asked her to check with a supervisor which she did and came back and said it was correct ! I told her to leave it as I couldn't believe it!, any advise would be helpful.
Update, I rang the Platinim desk again, and this time managed to move the 5 flights by a week with no
penalty, all good now!

That seems rather pricey, what would a cash fare cost?
