Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

Just to feed back on my experience, indeed HUACA did the trick:
The Premium agent knew just what was needed, and sorted me out in a matter of minutes.
BNE-ADL-BNE in J for 48,000 points and (I think) $311.00.
That's my ANZAC day weekend taken care of!

Booked a couple of U class ASAs this evening, they are considerably more expensive than my previous bookings though - BNE-SYD-CBR was 32000 + $280 - still about the same cash handed over as a Y fare on the same day. Minimum points appears to have gone up significantly now too...

WP kept for this year but wondering if I should start crediting future flights straight to AA as the goal of LTG is less appealing by the day...

LT OWS will not be any easier with AA.

BNE-SYD-CBR was 32000 + $280.

Sounds like it was (mis-) priced as two individual legs. Although the cash seems high even for that. The spreadsheet has $104.89 for BNE-SYD, and I think SYD-CBR would be similar.

Maybe you have been charged BNE-SYD and SYD-CBR, as there is a BNE-CBR flight. It seems a bit expensive to me, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me of the fare rules will know.

In December 2013 I flew a couple of CBR-SYD-OOL-SYD-CBR in J for 32,000 points and $304 each.

Just checked and I was able to book a CBR-SYD-BNE JASA for 16000 points + $241 + cc fees in February.

JessicaTam and I encountered a very stubborn woman on the phone on Saturday. Insisted that an ASA could only be one way (we had to pay for the return), and only for one person. And also priced one way for the number of points we would expect for the return. HUCA.

At least we will not have to put up with this sort of treatment for much longer

I had the same a couple of weeks ago - HUACA worked for me. I've never done a multi person or return ASA

That information about the CSA should go to Red Roo in a PM or by email ... it's a (short term) training issue. The CSA really needs to read and understand RoQ 4470, as we'll be peppering them up to 23:59:59 on 30th June.

By contrast, all my JASAs have either been returns and/or for two people. Short term training definitely required, although maybe short listing for redundancy would be better. After all, QF has to find its 5000 from somewhere!

Whoops, water out the nostrils again , lucky I missed the laptop - pity about the client file though  :D.

Just off the phone with the Platinum desk, spoke to a very efficient Scottish lass and booked a FASA to LHR (will be my very first :D)
SYD-MEL-LHR for Mar 15 192,000 points and $977.11.
All done and dusted in 5 minutes

And on Saturday I booked the return flight :) LHR-MEL-SYD for Mar 15 192,000 points and $1435.43. Was more expensive than the outbound but the inbound Classic was also pricing more expensive so I think this is probably in the ball park.
Agent understood immediately what I was looking for but asked if I could hold. Queue the music and she came back on 5 mins later apologising and stating that she had been told not to book these anymore but had nothing official in writing of when to stop doing so. I said "That's ok I know it can be booked until June 30 " ;)

Little hiccup/ delay with ticketing and the e-ticket arrived today :D
Now have enough points left to buy some Lego!

Decided to burn through a few points. I've never been a big user of mASAs but with all the constant changes I figured best to use some up. So when I go back to paying the new A330 product should be rolled out. Anyways for a JASA Nov 13 booking. Or by then I'll maintain status with QF through flights but consider directing CC earn elsewhere such as SQ as I do like their sweet suites.

Needed to use the HUACA method as 1st agent said "computer says no more for you anymore hahahahaha" (said in a wicked witch laugh) ... well ok that's not what she said, but it is what my brain told me she said. Anyway, the message was the same. So HUACA it was.

Waited 5 secs ... called back. Got a nice chap.
As soon as I spoke the words he knew exactly. Blam, done and dusted 12 mins.

120k points A$920.13 (inc cc fee) for 2 x J tix SYD to BKK.
The co-payment was about $100 more than I expected.

So far no award fee charged.
No tickets issued but I do have a notification from
QANTAS TELEPHONE SALES AUSTRALIA (AGENTIDxx_xx_)" & contains QANTAS ITINERARY

So we'll see how it goes. At least checkmytrip shows the ticket as valid.

I booked a JASA TSV-BNE-ADL for 24,000 points and $191. Booked on Saturday for travel next week. I'll earn 4250 points so net points cost is 19,750. I don't need the SCs as I'm already LTG and I'll be WP next year anyway.

The same flights as a Classic Award would cost 36,000 points + $77. So that's an extra 16,250 points and $114 less. That's 0.7 cents per point.

February next year, booked since March 28 2014? I booked a number of them the Feburary just gone for about that price...

I've booked about a dozen of these fares this year, and it seems there is a marked difference between fares offered for sale before late March 2014 and those available since...

LT OWS will not be any easier with AA.
Fair point, and at 75% to OWS on QF I'm unlikely to start from the ground up for that purpose alone, but given the situation with the value of QF's loyalty scheme AA is looking quite attractive in the long term...

I would strongly suggest trying again. I think that even booking as two legs it should be cheaper than that.
