Hainan Airlines Delays/Cancellations

A332 B-5979 on HU411, the 2310 hours late evening Wednesday 19 June SZX - BNE redeye took off at 0007 hours on Thursday 20, so arrival is delayed until a projected 1032 hours, 31 late. Fortunately the return flight (HU412) is not scheduled to push back in BNE until 1200 'high noon', so it should (in theory) be on time. This again shows how (where feasible) it's good for international airlines, particularly at 'outstations' to allow a greater than minimum turnaround.

Thursday 27 June 2019 finds HU484 (0820 hours morning MEL up to HAK, B-8117) arriving at 1809 hours, 124 late as it was not in the sky until 1033 hours.

The Australian financial year (for most) kicks off on 1 July 2019 with HU484, the 0820 hours MEL - HAK not becoming airborne until 0918. Arrival for A333 B-8117 should be 1654, 49 late.

HU447, Thursday 4 July 0130 hours HAK down to SYD (A333 B-1096) was airborne at 0235 with arrival suggested as 1337, 47 late.

The Thursday 1 August mid evening scheduled 2120 hours departure of HU448 from SYD to Hak and (after a scheduled 185 minute stop) to TYN has been delayed overnight to an estimated 1230 hours on Friday 2, music to hoteliers' ears.

HU447, the 1920 hours 31 July HAK - SYD had taken off at 1954 hours from TYN to HAK with A333 B-1048 but it may have returned to that mainland Chinese airport. I haven'[t looked up sites other than FR24 to discover what occurred.

UPDATE: The flight looks to have become airborne from HAK at 1915 hours on 1 August with 2 August SYD arrival predicted as 0653 hours.

The latter part of Friday 22 November 2019 in SYD was marked by late afternoon storms and lightning, causing the airport to shut for a while.

HU7998, the 2150 hours SYD - CSX (A333 B-304K) departed at 2249 hours. It took off at 2318 hours, past curfew.

On Thursday 16 January 2020, HU447 from HAK to SYD is arriving at 1440 hours, 50 minutes late with A333 B-1048.

Much earlier on Sunday 2 February 2020, in response to the ban on non-citizen non-permt residents (unless with immediate family) entering Australia, HU483, the 1400 hours scheduled MEL arrival overnight from CSX was cancelled. So were a slew of other mainland Chinese airlines' flights.
