There are benefits to holding off on earning Green until the end of your program year. The big one being that you would then have the option to apply the 50 bonus status credits at the start of the new program year or your current program year, whichever works best for you. Case in point, I ended last program year off at 610 status credits, more than enough to re-qualify for Gold (let's ignore the part about status extension for a moment). Back then I had a 50 status credit bonus offer for earning QF Green, and a 50 status credit bonus offer for flying 500 status credits with QF/JQ (earned in early September). I could've applied the 100 status credits to the last program year but none of them would've rolled over to this year (since QF caps Golds to 250 status credits rolled over), so instead I applied it this program year and started my year off strong with 350 status credits (250 status credits from the roll over and 100 status credits from QF Green/Loyalty Bonus).
