Only took photo's of the meals I haven't yet snapped but the canapes and caviar were the same as the previous flight:

Basil and chilli sorbet - boy this was a weird combo and left a slight burning after taste in the throat. Didn't see one person finish this so be warned :p

Had the roast chicken "Kai Yang" which was surprisingly tasty

Again skipped dessert and the cheese/fruit platter as I was desperate for some more sleep.

Woke up a little peckish and decided to tuck into some of the croissants to kick start the morning:

Just went the cereal this time:

And the Spanish omelette to wrap things up:

Spent the last hour of the flight getting into a fresh pair of clothes and freshening up for our landing into Sydney. Overall a solid flight by Thai but it looked like this crew struggled a we bit with a full cabin. This was mostly notable during dinner service but tbh it didn't matter. Arrived in SYD ahead of schedule and managed to de-plane, pass through immi and customs and make our way to the QF check-in after at about 08:10.

As we arrived earlier than expected I queried at check-in whether we could get onto an earlier flight to Melbourne (either 09:00 or 09:30). A quick check on her comp and she advised us that due to the type of ticket we had we could not change. So here's a quick heads up for people booking a Citibank PMG Y on QF. Not sure if this would have been ok if we were in J but there you go.

Made our way by the complimentary QF bus to the terminal and settled in for a coffee while we waited for our 10:00 flight.

Flight details

QF423 - SYD-MEL - Citibank PMG Y
Scheduled departure: 10:00
Actual departure: 10:05

Scheduled arrival: 11:35
Actual arrival: 11:38
Seats: 24A/B - windowless

This flight was on what I assumed to be the refurbished 767. Terrific seats and with ipads and Q streaming. As I mentioned on the first page, it's been about 5 years since I've flown QF domestically and I was pretty impressed.

The aircraft:

Seat & cabin (which was pretty full but snapped a quick shot before the masses came through):

Found this sitting on my seat and only plugs into the seat and not into the ipad:

Morning tea consisting of a byron bay cookie and a caffeine fix:

I loved flying on this leg. From the cabin staff to the pilot announcements (who was quite funny) this was a brilliant end to the journey. Apparently there was a bit of traffic at Melbourne airport, hence our slight delay in arriving but it didn't matter.

I know I should post this in the thread about celebrities you've seen on flights but I was stoked to see that Chris Scott (Geelong AFL coach) was on this flight sitting in 24F. Surprised that the he was in Y and not in J but there you go.

Baggage took forever to come out and I was pretty tired at this point and just wanted to get home and have a shower.

Well needless to say this trip for me and for the Diddy's was absolutely amazing. Never has the journey been just as memorable as the destinations. My sincerest thanks to the AFF community for all the help they've afforded me to make this trip happen.

Thai F was just brilliant and I would have no hesitation in flying them again on USDM or alternative. We're now in the process of planning our next trip to the US and may be USM/Borocay in July/August this year :)

If anyone wants any more info on any of the info I've provided please don't hesitate to contact me. I hope you've enjoyed reading/sharing this trip with us as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Safe and happy travels to all.

(Sure it wasn't Brad Scott? :p - in any case, must have been privately flying as any official stuff is supposed to be on Virgin.)
