Good News! Pyjamas on (almost) all Qantas international flights in J!

I was on QF46 DPS-MEL on 28/01 and can confirm no PJs were proactively offered by the crew.

No one asked for them either, so I didn't too.

The RM Williams branded amenity kit is a big step up from the "vintage" / cheap looking one in Q4 of last year though.

I don’t recall that? This article by AFF suggests PJs are available both ways MEL-DPS: Qantas Now Gives Pyjamas in Business Class to Asia

It would seem a bit weird though, changing into PJs on a 737 without flat beds.

It was speculated very early on that 737 operated aircraft don’t get PJs. No one has definitely confirmed / denied that. But there are at least two reports now (also post #225) where no PJs on a 737. Not aware of any report of receiving PJs on a QF narrow body.

MEL was defo a 737 at the time of the article. Although they may have made an error there?

Was it the CSM? Maybe check with them if you get a chance? They should have them… i got them to Manila the other day… a shorter daytime flight!

I was offered PJ's on QF39 daytime MEL-CGK on Sunday but not offered to Mr Flyfrequently @astrosly perhaps do as @sudoer suggests.

Correct.

PJs are not (routinely) offered on daytime flights.

They are by request only.

So if they were not offered it doesn’t mean they weren’t available.

Valid question, one that the airline industry seems to like to skimp on (and not just QF - I missed a couple of SQ amenities kits because I forgot to ask). But yeh lots of things that are ifykyk

I think when we're talking about daytime flight, its asia medium haul. Those are in the long haul category and reasonable expectation to goto sleep at some point.

I guess.. but isnt that the same with anything?

How do they know they can take the small pillow on Qatar, or take home the PJs? Or that they can remove the sash belt during cruise? Or that they can ask for pudding and dessert?

It’s a bit like the amenity kits on SQ… not many people know they’re on request… but often once one pax asks for them, others do too.

SQ has a printed menu of on-request items at every seat, it's not an IYKYK situation. (pic below not mine)
