I am traveling from Melbourne to Launceston on QF5735 on a Qantas award flight.
what are people's experiences with carrying golf clubs on domestic Jetstar flights?

I have taken golf clubs onto JQ flights to Launceston in the past with no issues. I know I had about 15kgs worth of checked luggage and my clubs weigh about 11kgs in their special container so was over 20kg allowance but had no issues and no extra charges. Note the last time I did this was in Jan 07.

Took mine up to Maroochydore from Sydney 3 weeks ago, no worries at all. No extra charges.

Two years ago, OOL to MEL, clubs were weighed together with suitcase. I was charged for excess. As per the policy, although it seems others here have experienced otherwise. Have done the Barnbougle run too without issues but have been under 20kgs checked luggage.

I recently looked at airfares BKK-SIN-BKK on Tiger travelling with golf clubs and the return airfares came to >$350. Looking at airfares on CX with a much more generous weight allowance worked out the same as Tiger and for a an extra 50% I could go business class on CX.

The add-ons with Tiger are a killer....
