Late last year I flew MEL/PER, booked in economy, then used points to upgrade to J. Checking my activity on line a day or so ago I noticed that the flight was listed, but that 0 points and 0 SC's had been recorded. I rang the QF platinum number to report the problem. It did not take very much explanation before they knew exactly what had happened. I got the impression from the operator that it was a common problem and that they would fix it quickly, which they have done.

Might pay to check if you have been succesful in getting a points upgrade.

Good to hear - did you get credited with economy points and SC's or business points and status credits?

Got credited with economy. No complaints there, that is the ticket I actually bought. Would be nice if QF proactively fixed the missing points once they knew the glitch was there rather than waiting for me to notice, or am I dreaming?

Well at least it leaves room for you to not tell them if you see a glitch, extending the same courtesy ;)

Whatever the issue is, it has been there for some time. It may be an issue with how the upgrade gets processed.

They may not have a way of knowing which ones have a problem.

This also happens on some ASAs. There appears to be a 'robot' that comes through and sweeps these bookings and adjusts the points/SCs after the fact, but may take up to 7 days (I was told).

I had a variation of this glitch, i upgraded with points to J, no SC's posted and no points deducted for the upgrade. Silly me rang up a few months later and asked about the missing SC's, 6 hours later economy SC's credited and points deducted for the upgrade. I complained about the time it took for the points to be deducted etc and ended up with a free upgrade voucher from the QFF customer care team. Probably helped by the fact I was still irritated from having missed luggage connections on QF51 the week earlier due to a drunk pilot SYD-BNE.

I know where you're coming from brother. I'm sick of watching 747 pilots stumbling around with my luggage. Why can't they just get low paid minority groups to do it for minimum wage!
