American Airlines and Jetstar Japan Announce Codeshare Agreement -- FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
...
Under the new arrangement, American Airlines will place its 'AA' code on services operated by Jetstar Japan between Tokyo Narita International Airport and Fukuoka, Matsuyama, Okinawa (Naha), Osaka (Kansai) and Sapporo (Shin Chitose), with first flights under the codeshare starting October 26, 2014.
...
I guess this is a way to avoid the TYO transfer to/from JL domestic flights, most of which use HND rather than NRT.

Good announcement. Hopefully it stops being a leech on QF finances and starts making a profit.

Somewhat hard to do at NRT T2. There are only 6 domestic gates which also have to be used by the JL, JW and (until Sunday) BC domestic flights. Also, during peak international times, those gates are swapped over to international use with doors closed at different parts of the hallways. There aren't enough gates at NRT T2 for all domestic operations to not be bussed.

QF only owns 1/3 of GK. Wouldn't GK losses also be partly covered by JL?

The NRT wiki page says that with a link to a short article written before GK and AirAsia Japan started flying claiming to open March next year.
I didn't see any sign of construction going on at NRT a few weeks ago. Even then, such a terminal wouldn't have jet bridges. It would be like the current MEL T4 or Gate 44 at LAX.

there was definitely construction when I was there in august, an extension of the existing terminal was well underway with around 4-5 gates added in a simple single level format leading back into the extended multilevel main terminal

This is Japan, so don't expect to see much constructions going on - instead, all the pokemons will come out the night before it's due to open, and put everything into place. :)
