Gifts for cabin crew

I wonder whether gifts for cabin crew will be constituted as corruption, where it migh force or incentivise air stewarts provide goods or services for unfair advantage?

Could you expand on that a little?

Definitely not been the case when I've gifted on long haul, the wrappers all through the galley gave them away

IME on long haul @blackcat20 CSM more than once has asked if he/she could share with Y crew, always likes to open them on the bus en route to the hotel.
They have been genuinely appreciative.

That is certainly not my experience. It is never wasted. True, there might be some left over as you may get a number of boxes (crew on staff travel giving crew treats is common) and if they aren't eaten, it is left for the next crew (depending where the aircraft goes next).

A close friend of mine is long haul cabin crew …
Occasionally they receive gifts in the forms of chocolates, but apparently these almost always end up in the trash

I did ask about this, why not pass it on to the next team. Apparently on international routes , crew are not allowed to leave anything on board - including food items even in crew quarters. It has to be consumed or disposed and not left for the next team. Perhaps it depends on airline policy?
