Taken GIFT OF GOLD STATUS

Really??!! I thought that Gold perks were always Ex lounge access no matter what room you are in?? I know you get breakfast and a later check out but i really thought that the Ex lounge was a gold perk, no matter what
Yes, unfortunately it changed some time ago.

Also as a gold perk you get breakfast outside the US, inside the US you get a daily F&B credit (of $10-25USD depending on brand and location) if that is selected as your MyWay benefit. And no levels have late checkout as a benefit, although presumably most hotels are willing to offer it.

The following policy applies at all Conrad® Hotels & Resorts, Curio - A Collection by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton™ hotels that have Executive Floor Lounges. Excludes the Sakura Club at Conrad Washington, D.C.

  • If you are an Hilton Honors guest with Gold status, you and up to one additional registered guest in the same room will be granted complimentary access to the Executive Floor Lounge only if you receive a room upgrade to the Executive Floor or an upgrade to a room type that confers Executive Floor Lounge access benefits.

Thx for the update. The free breakfast is a nice perk to still have but I love the ex lounge.

Thx for the clarification

It never really changed over the last two decades.

I have been basically Diamond or Gold since 2005; Gold since 2019

Gold can be upgraded to any level room and if to executive level then those privileges apply.

Several times in the last year or two I have stayed at the Doubletree KL (Ampang Park).

When upgraded to an executive room, I have had lounge aceess. When not, breakfast (but it is decent there).

The last two times no exec upgrade, but with ~$30 offers to upgrade on OLCI. No thanks.

In reality, since COVID, gold upgrades to eceutive lounges have become rare.

Gold is really the sweet spot. While you can't eat a view, you can eat a gauranteeed breakfast.

I believe the rules say Gold are capped at Junior Suites, Diamond have no restriction; but either way it's up to the hotel.

It's not in the status matrix of benefits.

It's something hotels will usually offer to all guests, regardless of status (which probably explains its absence from the matrix) - however the likelihood / duration will be influenced by status (unofficially of course, as none of this is written). The app blurb you posted above appears to all levels, including the no-status base level.

It's really up to individual hotels - I would say standard 1 hour late check out is almost a given (at any hotel, including non-Hiltons).

Even as a Diamond, most of the late check outs I've had are still at that one hour mark, sometimes I'll get 2-3 hours, occasionally I'll get as late as the check in time (3/4pm).

I've had a few hotels tell me they won't do late check outs as they prioritise early check ins - which I must say I get far more often, so I'm fine with that.

Talking about prioritising early check ins, at the Conrad in SG, nearly every time I have got a check in at 8am. Late checkout max to 2pm. But I'm not complaining.

Yes, it is different from the Marriott Bonvoy late checkout which is a written benefit, 4pm for Platinum & above and 2pm for Gold in non resort properties. It's almost guaranteed at non-resort properties and is rare to be denied, in fact IME is often proactively offered.
