I have been searching for a way (new way) to gain extra miles on either QF or Velocity . I read about buying money orders from the post office and going to put the money order back into your account. Really gaining the points from the money order at minimum costs. This is what i have been searching for the past few months. I have had a few things go my way but nothing enough to write home about (i.e westfields giftcards repeat process) . The yanks are running around buying visa gift cards and have the advantage of 5x points promo shopping at office supplies and i cant find Sqaut.

So if anyone has any ideas which can earn some points just enough for domestic travel i think it would be best to PM me instead of blasting it here . But anyone who had or has know of previous ideas maybe can post them so it could help me narrow my search.

In exchange for your information i can offer advice for free hotel stays or cheaper routing with award bookings.:idea::idea:

Thank you all for your help once again.

Shanye -my personal view: this isn't coupon connection on Flyertalk. I dislike some of the forums on FT because people have become secretive in the way they wish to trade information. That never used to be the spirit and it is disappointing. It has not been the spirit on AFF either.

Sharing deals is not a problem. What is a problem is people taking those deals to the limits and then the companies start to clamp down. What is the difference between posting something on a public forum and one person abuses it, or PM'ing a deal and that person still abusing it?

At least if something is posted publicly everyone at least gets the chance to have a bite at the cherry. PM and one or two people get to eat the whole cake and then shut it down for everyone else. I guess there are private PM networks exactly for that purpose.

Anyway - just my point of view :)

Shayne: yeah, look around AFF. There are lots of little gems, but you need to look in every nook and cranny. I suspect there is enough information already on AFF to answer your question. Buy some wine, buy lots of WW petrol. Open some credit card accounts. Read pretty much everything on AFF

And I have to agree with MEL_traveller that people have to have sense of self regulation with a few of these things. :)

oh, did I say read AFF from top to bottom and front to back?

I'm sure you're in charge of them but some people forget that credit cards are like fire. A great servant but a vicious master.

I spend everything possible on my credit cards but can and do pay them in full immediately the statement is received.

Always treat them with caution if you don't have the cash to pay the bill.

Im sure if I posted a site called innstant.com and said hey everyone this site you can use for a Brg with intercontineal hotels in australia to get a free night would last a hour or fly syd to - xx_ for 17.5k in J to Europe would have been closed down , hence why I said PM . I'm not looking at buying things with great earning abilities I'm looking at purchasing items that will net me poimts without any spending .

I haven't read that's on AFF anywhere .

Have a look at your current CC's and see if they have any bonus offers.

I shop on the VA web site and get points that way.

There has been some ways to gain some cheap points on that site.

Feel free to PM the name of the website and 17.5K routing to the many of us who have helped you over the years. That would be a nice gesture (after all - when you started out you had nothing to trade and nor did anyone ask!) :)

I dont want a bonus i want to earn points without spending any money . I would not be looking for months for something to give me double points on buying a case of wine.

If everyone took this approach, the forum would die overnight.

Didnt the americans do it for years with the spending in the mint? Didnt other AF members here buy money orders using their credit cards and deposit the amounts back into their own accounts. What about the westfields gc earning velocity points rebuying with gc again and again .

Or what about the room i got this week at the intercon cannes worth 6,000 euro for free actually including LUNCH and breakfast and canapes. :)

If there is a way to do such currently, it's not being obviously shared on an open forum.

As a WP, I have found the easiest and cheapest way to garner 30,000+ QFF points is to simply travel QF to the USA and back on point earning eligible fares - but, hey, that's costs money as well, maybe $1400 in economy....
