Slightly off topic - a sad story behind the man (Philip Vasyli) and his murder. He was an Australian success storyFor orthotics, my physio recommended these and did well for my plantar fasciitis.

Have them in all my shoes.
In the medical issues thread.Must be going senile. Someone just mentioned Frankie4 shoes and now I cannot find the post. The Jackie V Black Tumbled looks great and moisture-proof. Pity they don't do it in a Navy, would be great for MrsP.
Thanks.Any advice would be appreciated?
Can't offer any advice , can offer sympathy though... hopefully one on the doctors will respond.
It seems 200 is the entry point as I presented in the 160>180 range but the "tension" of the ER tipped me over 200 and I was quickly admitted
Foot motion.Thanks but in Brisbane.
And @JohnK there are many doctors that really do understand weight loss and get good results when their advice is followed. In found this with several patients and when I eventually followed my own advice it worked just fine with a 35KG weight loss over 18 months.
The real downside is you must continue on that same lifestyle to make sure you don't just put the weight on.
As well there are differences in each of us and that comes to our metabolism as well. For those that read this thread wvill be aware that there is no one else in this world put together just like you.
For what it is worth my plan is simple. Just eat less and forget the calories. Then exercise more. You eventually find the right combination for yourself.
Others have chimed in responding to your question re shoes @IlovetotravelLooking for some recommendations. I broke my foot 6.5 weeks ago on the left foot Stiill pain on the area before the toes (ie the pressure point where you walk) and on the whole of the left side of my foot. I am now out of the moon boot. and so every step hurts Scans have confirmed that current pain is just part of the journey,, not new injuries.
Am going overseas in 2 weeks. What is the best shoe for someone in my situation - sneaker or hiking boot? Looking for something that is going to provide maximum support and protection and hopefully "lessen the blow" of each step. Any brand recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
I know they can be treated. Where do I ask for help?my mind refuses to leave me alone. Keeps nagging for me to eat. Even when I eat it's asking for more. Stressful. Depressing.
You can change your mind, especially as it is trying to kill you.
Decide to live, find the enemy and neutralise it, be stronger
Psychosomatic diseases like this can be treated, ask for some help

Mr Denali's got his first pair of orthodics from this person and told me what happened to the guy. About 10yrs ago he took his then orthodics to a new podiatrist and the guy brought in other staff to ohhh and ahhh over Mr Denali's OG Vasyli orthodicsSlightly off topic - a sad story behind the man (Philip Vasyli) and his murder. Weight loss is hard as the brain wires itself to try to get back to heaviest weight. Some people are able to do by will-power alone but for many the hunger drive is analogous to how a normal weight person feels when they haven't eaten for days.No point unless you commit to taking the offered help.
BTW -weight loss. Since an operation I stacked on the weight as I couldn't exercise for a year. I just kept eating as I did when I was exercising (a lot).
Still can't exercise enough to lose weight, so now I'm on mounjaro. Costs abt $350/month - non PBS. I'm retired, no employment income but I'm doing it because I value my health above the cost of the medication.

$350 month is recouped in terms of health benefits (less medication for obesity related health issues), food costs and overall wellbeing). Fully support @andye sentiments - most pax cannot do it via willpower alone which is unfortunately a function of our evolutionary biology (not personal weakness).I know they can be treated. Where do I ask for help?
RBWH has the program I mentioned but 3 shakes a day. They offer psychological help.
I'd be happy if I can get into an outpatients clinic but apparently unless you threaten to commit suicide they won't take you.
Or you can pay a fortune out of your own pocket. Not a viable option for me. So back to square one and try to fight the demons alone.
