Garuda Indonesia Delays/Cancellations

On Monday 7 December 2020, GA715 (1000 hours SYD to DPS, the first flight between these two, or indeed to DPS 'carrying passengers', I'd noted for many months) was cancelled.

A week later, 14 December 2020, GA715, the 1000 hours morning SYD up to DPS is to get the boot, as is GA713 to CGK at 1130 hours.

On Thursday 17 December 2020, GA713, the 1130 hours from SYD to CGK operated but GA715, the 1000 hours SYD to DPS was cancelled.

I've not checked every day but this may have been the first passenger flight to CGK fromn Oz for a long time.

A few days later from the last post, on Monday 21 December 2020, GA715 (1000 hours SYD up to popular ordinarily DPS) has been cancelled.

The 1130 hours SYD - CGK GA713 has also got the boot.

Saturday 26 December 2020 has seen another cancellation of GA715, the 1000 hours SYD - DPS and GA713, an 1130 hours SYD - CGK.

One I omitted yesterday - apologies - was that on Monday 18 January 2021, GA712, the 0930 hours scheduled SYD arrival overnight from CGK was cancelled during coronavirus. Sydney has had its weekly cap on international passenger arrivals lowered to (IIRC) 1505 persons per week so this may be why the flight got the flick.

On Saturday 4 December 2021, GA715, the 1000 hours SYD - DPS and GA713, the 1130 hours to CGK have been cancelled.

This is unsurprising as GA has hugely cut its international network since COVID-19 commenced. Bali has not seen any tourists enter for many, many months.

GA is operating fewer flights to and from Oz than pre-COVID-19.

On Thursday 16 December 2021, GA712 (2235 hours late evening CGK down to SYD) took off early at 2220 but on Friday 17, B773ER PK_GIK arrived at 0845, 55 minutes tardy so the winds must have been against it, as I can't see that it incurred a hold or two. The return flight, GA713, the 0950 hours was airborne at 1113 AEDT, arriving at 1355, as luck would have it also 55 minutes tardy.

GA715 at present is a weekly (1) SYD - DPS that on 6 May has A333 PK-GHD. This 1145 hours flight did not take off until 1410 so approximate arrival should be 1806 hours, 106 minutes behind the timetable.

Given its parlous finances, GA seems to be a less frequent carrier to/from Oz.

On Friday 29 July 2022, GA715 (1005 hours morning SYD up to GPS that took off at 1055 with A333 PK-GPX) should arrive at 1515, 35 minutes late.

Garuda is slowly rebuilding a presence to and from Oz but its finances remain dire. IIRC its frequencies are nowhere near what they were pre-COVID-19.

On Sunday 22 January 2022, A333 PK-GPW on GA717, the 0910 hours MEL to CGK was in the sky at 0956 hours. Suggested at gate arrival should be 1248 hours, 33 minutes behind the schedule.

As implied in the previous post, GA has substantially reduced its flights to and from Oz compared to pre-COVID.

On Sunday 11 June 2023, GA715 (1005 hours SYD-DPS, A333 PK-GPX, a much more pleasant way to travel than say on a QF B738 on QF43 at 16125 hours) took off at 1031 hours with anticipated at gate arruval of 1509 mid afternoon, 34 late.

Wednesday 9 August 2023 has seen A333 PK-GPW on GA713, the 1145 hours late morning SYD up to CGK not take off until 1624. Estimated gate arrival is 2037 mid evening, 237 late.
