Fumes force emergency landing for Virgin Blue plane | News.com.au

As you can read from this story though, there is no emotive language, there is no passenger quotes and is just reported as fact.
Not what they do for QANTAS and say things like "big scary bang", "passengers feared for their lives" etc etc.

A VIRGIN Blue plane had to make an emergency landing in Melbourne this morning when a pilot noticed a strange smell on the aircraft.

The Boeing 737 flight DJ807 from Melbourne to Sydney was carrying 122 passengers and had been in the air for about 20 minutes when the captain decided to turn the plane around, Virgin Blue spokesman Colin Lippiatt said.

Or 'The Age' version: http://www.theage.com.au/travel/tra...ding-at-melbourne-airport-20101119-17zny.html

Edit: And that was already after a delayed service of 43min!
Scheduled at 0630, departed at 0713. (unless it is something else im reading on MEL airports flight info)

This story has hardly been mentioned on most of the news sites!

On no news - QF is the top story about how close the A380 came to disaster and the 'passengers are lucky to be alive'.
