Just a notice there is a Qantas Sale on at the moment that may be of interest to any wishing to attend the 6th FT QF Forum AGM.

It's a bit of a tradition, with many regulars both on AFF and FT attending.

More about it here: FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - 5th Annual FT AGM, BNE QP, 24 Feb 07

Some important notes;
Some members actually flew Jetstar last year,
Did Iain F fly the most last year over 130 segments,
AFF seems to come up first when searching for Australian frequent flier programs,
If something important is posted on AFF can someone please post it on FT,
Now everyone will have to look at AFF in the coming weeks.
QF WP has an interesting way of replacing his FT T-Shirt
Saturday 23 Feb 2008 was suggested for next years event. ...

Will have to pencil in 23 Feb
There's a sale on covering that date until Monday 6th with lots of availability all weekend; I'm Gunna get in early. MEL $119, SYD $89 ADL $120, PER $259, DRW $179 etc e/w,

Calling QF WP, our meeting organizer of renown, time to fire up a 6th Annual FT AGM, BNE QP, Saturday 23 Feb 08 thread.

Cheers ...

It would be nice to attend this event at some time in the future but unfortunately Saturday is golf day....

Here I was thinking I could get my first mileage run under my belt (that's when I know I'm addicted) but looks like its only car mileage for me. :( Wonder whether we can put a video link into the Melbourne or Sydney QP? :p ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Surely you could go via some place interesting like ROK. :p
Lol, its only $69 atm so I thought I might give it a go! Don't tempt me serfty, when ms littl_flier doesn't get flowers on Friday because littl_flier is going to ROK, she'll hunt you down and send us to HEL. :p

Apparently, you can get to HEL via SIN and earn Points and SC's by using oneworld carriers to do so.
:D:D LOTFLMAO! :D:D

Or via FRA and HKG - just don't check luggage...

And if you fly in the northern winter, you may well find that HEL has frozen over  .

Well, I have committed a SIN and am going straight to HEL (not via FRA though because I might need my bag ;) )! The soft side of me has seen me splurge and I'm going to CBR via SYD in March next year overnight. I decided to ditch my TSV weekend so I go to the FT AGM. :D Total cost was $272 for 40 SC's or about $6.80 per SC. I just noticed though that if I picked ADL instead, I could have got there for $297 return at 50 SC's or $5.94 per SC. Better value than ROK but that's for another day. :D

Ok, I'm really obsessed now! :p Serfty, stop encouraging me. ;)

At least I am not being blamed for this one ;)

Umm - what actually happens at the AGM? Is it just a gathering of FTers at a QP?

Lots of sharing of experiences. Putting faces to names. Jokes, laughter and general fun.

The early ones seemed to end up with large stash of empty beer glasses around us, but in more recent times the beverage and food consumption has been extremely restrained and responsible. Many of the attendees are local so need to drive home.

Sometime a few will kick on at a local restaurant/pub.

I notice over on FT, moa999 or Aubs & DUF (FT) here is on QF175 for the AGM. I was thinking I might fly down late Friday night (QF555 is still cheap) and catch QF175 back in the hope of a brekky at the FLounge (providing Aubs will guest me in?). What does one think of this plan and is anyone else keen on joining in. Mal, you know you want to?? :p :D The only thing is it seems a bit early but hey, I'm keen for anything.

Oh dear, I have the bug! :p

I did post over @ FT that I wasn't going to do this... but yeah am considering it (overnight down on 555/back on 175). $193 for the fare. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions! Only issue I see is the 4 hour wait around before 3pm. Maybe another small trip somewhere to kill the time :D

Indeed! :)

I have indicated a bronze availability for the event - I might add it to a DONE4 if I have to go to NY in late january - get QF174 up, lunch with friends and a 6PM flight home...
