Out of curiosity I looked up the highest cost offered to go from Perth to Melbourne and back in business class and it is possible to spend over $7,000 on the return flights.per person.

We are really close to Left Bank so that would be a good choice.
OK I think Left Bank works - by the time game finishes and you wander back down there won't be much change out of 6pm - so might I suggest around that time at Left Bank for any AFF member who wants to have a social drink and say hello to a couple of fellow AFF members then everyone please feel free to drop in.

No formalities at all - just a social drink - be there or be somewhere else.

FWIW we will be venturing onto The Olive Tree for dinner I would suggest - have not made resos at this point in time but will prolly do so tomorrow - Restaurants, Italian Restaurant, Steak House, Steakhouse, South Melbourne, Albert Park, Port Melbourne, Middle Park, St Kilda, South Yarra

Not the flashest or bestest or most expensive nosh house in town - but IMHO best value restaurant in MEL - if you enjoy large steaks - you'll love this place.

cove if you have not done the post GF crawl back into town from the G then you are in for an experience - Brunton Ave closed to car traffic - foot traffic only - the vibe is unbelievable - you will love it.

Have been to several grand finals and one was a draw and one other was won by West Coast.
There will be a Fremantle Dockers after party at the convention centre according to my son.
Can you PM a phone number so I can be in touch.
Have a brother who lives in Park Street but he has never mentioned The Olive Tree!

In the collective's opinion is it worth booking a FF seat 350 odd days out for next year and cancelling it / selling it (name change conditions permitting of course) should your team not make it?**

Managed to get over in '08 (love the Hawks) for $750 return (Thurs & Mon) on J* and paid $750 for the package. Now that the AFL has taken over the packaging they're killing it. Still, would love to be there, Go Hawks!!!!

**Western Bulldog fans need not reply. :D

Heard today on the radio that there will be extra police at the game... Probably to police them unruly Freo supporters! :p

11sjw you had better stay home seeing you are a Hawks supporter!
Domestic travel does not require ID confirmation so you could easily have someone else travel on your ticket but you should not do it.
I hope the extra police are Dockers supporters.

Probably no.

FWIW, a Simple JASA booked into U class is fully refundable.

There's a 20% chance of a shower during the game, but it is September and forecasts more than 24 hours out are notoriously inaccurate.

Currently most of Saturdays rain is predicted for the early hours of the morning.

I hope Brian Lake breaks his leg!

Saturday? Too busy preparing for overseas trip the next day.

I just got an email from friends (Freo nutters) who are currently touring the US. They have already started the 8hr drive to LAX to catch a flight to MEL for the Grand Final.
Nutcases does not even begin to explain it.

Nutcases does not even begin to explain it.
Their biggest mistake isn't even driving from LAX, it's scheduling an overseas trip during AFL finals if they are that passionate...facepalm!

19 years in the AFL and this is the first time they made the Grand Final.

I thought serfty would have updated his avatar for this week.

Go Freo,:)

The weather in Melbourne is a bit windy and raining today. With this wind you could get the full back to score some goals at the MCG.
